“Great sushi in Montreal”
Reviewed August 25, 2013

My daughter lives in Montreal and I always make a point of going to Miso every time I am in Montreal. The service is always very good and the food is awesome. We did order oysters this past visit and they didnt have any, which was a bit of a drag because they are always very good.

“Good neighbourhood sushi”
Reviewed March 22, 2013 via mobile

Sushi fresh and a full and interesting selection. Service fast. Just as good as the up scale sushi emporium down the street and much better priced. If you are eager for an enjoyable sushi experience, this is the place.

“One of the Best Sushi Bars in Montreal”
Reviewed January 11, 2013

I worked in Japan for fifteen years and know a little something about sushi and Japanese cuisine. Miso is not perfect, but for a city with few good Japanese restaurants, Miso offers a satisfying dining experience. First the down side. The tempura was tasty but too oily. The miso soup was less than average. On the up side, the decor and atmosphere are refined, modern, quiet, and comfortable. Service was above average. Servers were familiar with the menu, but not Japanese food in general. Sushi chefs were Japanese and knew how to prepare sashimi and sushi correctly. There are many original and interesting sushi and sushimaki offerings. The unfiltered organic sake was very good and served properly. I enjoyed my meal and will definitely return on my next visit to Montreal.

“Delicious food, but the service was disappointing”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

We decided to go to Miso for New Year's Eve supper, as it was close to the other activities we'd planned, and we had liked their food in the past.

Although the food was mostly excellent, the service was laking.
We took the $50 tasting menu, which included Beef Tataki (delicious), Red Curry with shrimp (so so), Shitake consomme (to die for), Sushi (very good) and dessert (pretty good). We also tried the AAA beef tartare, which was not that tasty.

After arriving around 7:30pm, we only got out of there at 11:45pm, so we ended up missing the NYE fireworks and other activities we'd planned. To top it off, when the bill finally did arrive it was wrong, and the waitress couldn't fix it even after three attempts.

“Very cozy atmosphere and good food”
Reviewed November 16, 2012

The food is quite good and the Sushi is excelenet. They have a big selection of Maki some of which are exclusive to them. There is good variety of wine and Saki plus other drinks but we only had the Saki. Ask for the cold unfiltered Saki and you'll certainly enjoy it. It is a nice place to have a quiet dinner or for a business gathering. At least on the main floor I don't think you can have very big groups so you should call and reserve in davance.
