The night we (my husband, his partner and myself) visited the restaurant, they were slammed! (Which hopefully is good for their business!!) The bistro is very charming as is the street on which it's located. We all ordered the French onion soup and it was absolutely perfect. It was also a huge portion! The guys had duck (again a huge portion (it looked like a half a duck for each of them!). I ordered the terrific tender filet de beouf and we all loved the entrees. We ordered a bottle of wine for dinner of which they were out. However, a very acceptable substitution was offered instead. We were (unfortunately) too full for dessert. Our only negative was how long we waited for our food. Several individuals who'd arrived later than we were served before we were. I think the large crowd got the kitchen a bit overwhelmed and our chairs were less than comfortable. Without that, I would have given the restaurant an excellent rating.

My daughter and I came here to relive our one-year anniversary of having gone to Paris. We were not disappointed. The bistro is cozy and charming. Ask to sit upstairs where it is more intimate. The decor keeps you amused while you wait to get served (which wasn't long at all) - there are wonderful old pictures and posters everywhere.

The service is over the top - the waiters were pleasant and patient while we asked about menu items and asked them to repeat the specials of the day. They spoke with a French accent too (not a Quebecois one) which added to the experience for us.

We started off with seared foie gras - it wasn't sliced like i was used to getting, so it was less appetizing having to cut into the fatty meat. Generous portion tho'.

My daughter had the Steak Frites and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Gotta have some mayo with those fries, right? My daughter was about to ask for it to be cooked medium well (she's not fond of anything that looks bloody). The waiter, patiently and earnestly, explained how it was not a good idea to order well done and that it would turn out chewy. He added that in good conscience he had to tell her but that ultimately it is her choice. She ordered medium and wasn't too put off by the deep pink - she ended up eating all of it except the core where it was too red for her. I had the house specialty, Boeuf Bourguignon, and it was beautifully cooked - hardly needed chewing - with fingerling potatoes in a rich, wine sauce. Very tasty. And the baguette they serve up was great to sop up some of the sauce.

We had house wine with our meal and it was excptionally good, i must admit.

We didn't have dessert there because we were going elsewhere for that (Juliette et Chocolat).

All in all, a very pleasant dining experience and, yes we would go there again.

Nice little bistro in pedestrian friendly Prince Arthur. Sadly there were too many empty storefronts in the area when we were there. I hope that changes soon.

Service was very friendly. It wasn't crowded. I had Macaroni and Cheese, thinking I was making a sacrifice for my meat-eating dinner partners, but it was the best Mac and Cheese I have ever had. Andrea had the poached salmon with courgettes gratiné, and waxed eloquent about how good the courgettes gratiné was (she didn't say anything about the poached salmon, but she ate it all, so I assume it was good). Debbie had the Boeuf Bourguignon, which was made with fingerling potatoes. She said it was cooked to perfection, and the expressions on her face as she ate it suggested that she was not exaggerating. She also had a glass of wine with her entree, and reported that it was fantastic.

The meal came with a complementary baguette, which was, like the rest of the food, exceptionally good. Normally one doesn't get terribly excited about a plain baguette, but this one had a nice warm flavor, the right amount of moisture, and a great crust. We wound up asking for seconds.

I had a an apple tart a la mode for dessert, and Andrea had a chocolate soufflé (they call it a lava cake, but it's wasn't one of the lame lava cakes you sometimes see—it was an actual soufflé). My tart was lovely; Andrea's souffle was also.

This is a really great little restaurant. If you like french food, you should go.

Ate here on our last night in Montreal because it was one of the closest restaurants to our hotel and we still hadn't thawed out from our walk through the city. We made reservations on Open Table and were immediately seated near the fireplace by a funny and friendly woman who also ended up being our server. The house wine is priced well, we had wonderful service, and the bread was delicious. My steak and fries were ok - fries were really good! The mac and cheese was exceptionally yummy - my husband kept comparing it to French onion soup - cheesy goodness. The food wasn't off the charts amazing, but we were really happy with the overall experience and would recommend.
