Description: Located in the heart of the Plateau for 25 years, Le Pégase is renowned for its fine French cuisine and a selection of meats cooked to perfection. You can bring your own wine, so ... be your own sommelier and select your favorite bottles! The decor and atmosphere are welcoming and friendly. A romantic evening between lovers or a convivial moment for friends conjugate there perfectly.--In the kitchenThe owner-chef Michael Audet-Laparé is illustrated in many restaurants (Chez Victoire, Le Quartier General, Laurie-Raphaël, Grenadine) before investing in command of Le Pégase. Assisted by Jean-Luc Peyrotes, he applies, every day, to work fine seasonal ingredients on the well-kept cooking and to express his taste for the culinary innovation and the marriages of flavors. In the dining-roomDamien Haennel, associated owner, orchestrates the service and its rhythm with a lightness tinged with twenty years of experience in catering. A good mood and a professionalism which favors the friendly reception of our duet of waiters, Johann and Morgane.

Recently I met friends at Restaurant Pégase. I have dined at ‘bring your own wine’ restaurants many times but this was my first visit to a restaurant of this caliber. It won’t be my last. The restaurant is housed in what used to be a residence row house. The dining area is small but you never have to strain to hear your conversation. Three of us chose the Gourmet Menu which includes an appetizer, main course, dessert and coffee/tea. I chose the veal and though it was a challenge to carve, it was delicious. Dessert selection was hard as I love Crème Brûlée and Death by Chocolate but the Crème Brûlée won and was worth the sacrifice. It was such a treat to enjoy a delicious meal and not break the bank.

I will return again to this restaurant.

“Reasonably priced BYOW restaurant”
Reviewed November 2, 2012

Le Pegase is small and cozy, with a clean and inviting look. The service was excellent - attentive without being too present. The appetizer (which my friend and I shared) was goat cheese profiteroles with veal cheeks and beet purée and foam. It was absolutely BRILLIANT! My main - steak with pepper sauce - was pretty ordinary in taste, but well cooked and presented. My friend really enjoyed her chocolate fondant dessert.

“delicious, friendly, leisurely dining experience”
Reviewed August 13, 2012

We went there twice on a four-night trip to montreal - first night we happened upon it, and then made plans to go again for the last night. Excellent food - loved each of the main dishes we had: well prepared, great sauces and sides. We ordered Table D'Hote, which comes w/soup or salad, main, and coffee/tea. Enough food for sure, but one night we also ordered the tarte tatin which was delicious. Friendly servers, attentive but also leave you alone to enjoy the night. BYOB.

“Very good, out of the way, bring your own wine”
Reviewed July 22, 2012

Good French bistro food where we ate as part of a group. We were able to bring our own wine and the service and food were very good. The place is up on the Mount Royal plateau so a bit of a hike from downtown.

Well served, high quality, enticing food selections. Quite a variety of interesting menu choices along with a few standard choices - everything the table ordered was very tasty and well presented.
