The good: the food is good (not great), the portions are good and the service is fine.

The not so good: loud, service is uneven and it is a better place for groups that a couple.

My wife & I arrived in Montreal late afternoon & were told by our b & b owner of the Raclette restaurant. We hadn't booked but received a smile & welcome greeting(It was very busy ).
We were seated on the verandah area which not as noisy & very pleasant. Our waiter was very attentive & proceeded to pour our wine which we took along.
The first course was soup --Broccoli & Caulilower which was just delicious !!!!!
We decided to share a fondue & was a great choice. It was 2 years since we last had one in Switzerland & was as good if not better.
The sweet was a sorbet which was fabulous followed by coffee.
It was a great meal & we highly recommend the Raclette. It cost $75 & we bought the wine .

Excellent value to have the grande table d'hote meal, including entree (the raclette is not to be missed) soup (mushroom the night we went-smooth and not creamy), main (rack of lamb fine, veal in mushroom and cream sauce close to what we've had in Lucerne) and dessert (ok chocolate mousse, not very good clafouti). Value is enhanced by the fact you bring your own wine, served without corkage fee. Very personable service, fun atmosphere, popular to the point a reservation is recommended.

Really enjoyed our dinner here! Dined on the lovely terrace, surrounded by flowering vines, in a quiet neighbourhood. We chose the Table d'Hote menu and mixed the small one with the large so that we had an extra appetizer to split, plus a dessert. Nothing disappointed. The soup of the day - yellow pepper - was terrific. Beef carpaccio was tender and tasty. But the main event was the raclette. An oven was brought to the table so that we could cook our own. The cheese was served to us with charcuterie, boiled potatoes, gherkins and pickled onions. Very generous portions for a great price. The dessert paled in comparison to the other courses, but through no failing, we just weren't as keen on the cherry clafoutis as the courses that had come before. Bring-your-own-wine adds to the savings. Service was friendly and attentive.

We tried the main feature of the restaurant, the raclette, and we were not disappointed. Service was attentive and smart. Our kids even had fun with it--They do have a child's portion, which was just right for our 9 and 11 year old. Much more of a local place than a tourist trap. Interesting neighborhood to walk around.
