Been going to Kam Shing cote des neiges for over 15 years.
Despite the change of ownership, this restaurant still offers delicious chinese food at great prices.
The service is not great but efficient. The decor is also basic. But we go there for the food.
We love the Roasted Duck, the Salt & Pepper shrimps, the fried noodles and many more dishes.
If you are in the area, it is worth trying

I've been going to this restaurant for many years (20 years to be more precise) and I always enjoy the food. You get what you order and there's no fuss about it, the food is fresh with lots of flavor. One thing though, never expect great customer service. The waiters don't do more than expected , you order, they get the food you pay end of story. The crispy noodles, the roasted duck and chicken fried rice is what gets people going over and over again. The decoration is simple and they don't go out of their way to make it nice for the eye, but at least your belly will be very happy!

I used to come here in university for the good portion sizes and food quality. A decade later, the food quality went down, but the portions justified occasional visits. I paid nearly 40.00 for 3 plates of takeout today that, in their totality, could barely feed a 10 year old. I asked for hot sauce and mustard, and I might have well have asked for a gold bar. I was told that all food quantities were now measured and counted when I complained. Well, in this time of recession, that's the wrong answer. No longer a viable option under any circumstance: AVOID THIS PLACE.

I've been going to this restaurant for years, it it consistently good and great value! Huge portions, amazing orange beef, black bean sauce, hot and sour soup to die for, great Peking duck! You can't go wrong! Make sure to go a bunch of you to get as much variety as possible or be prepared to bring food home. This is not fine dining, it's cheap and cheerful and if your in it for the food it's awesome! The wait staff hasn't changed in 10 years so should give u a good idea. Totally recommend, only thing is they
Don't deliver, and you have to buy re-usable chopsticks if taking out.

I once read that you judge a Chinese restaurant by its hot and sour soup. Well if this is the case, Kam Shing is the best chinese joint in town. The soup, chock full of Chinese mushroom and silky tofu strips has a dense, velvety, tangy, pungent broth that will haunt you for a long time. I also sampled noodles with vegetables and tofu, a simple stick-to-your-ribs dish with no surprise but which manages to deliver the goods : the vegetables are perfectly stir-fried and mixes beautifully with the crispy noodles... add hot sauce and enjoy !
The waiters are low-key but friendly and there is plenty of parking around. Do not be detered by the fact that the restaurant is located in a run-down shopping mall, far from Chinatown... you will not find better value anywhere in town, as far as down-to-earth Chinese food is concerned.
