“Delicious, fast, and bring your wine place !”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2013

I've been there so many timessss, and last night, it was fabulous as always. Great food, enough to share between friends. You selected many differents and it is coming in 5-10 minutes, so quick and delicious. A nice little quiet place to come again and again.

“Average Tom Yum Soup - Expensive”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 31, 2012

The Tom Yum Soup was tasty but expensive compared to other Chinese restaurants in the Montreal Area but had to try it out. Also, service was slow and I had to keep asking for more water as the water glass was really small. The tea was complimentary.

“Good grub for cheap prices”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 1, 2011

Wow! I don’t know where are these recently bad reviews come from but I was at the Deer Garden with 5 firiends this past Saturday. The place was packed at 6pm but was empty at 7:15. Okay so no special points for the décor, bathroom hygiene (or lack thereof) or comfort of uneven chairs but it’s all about the food. And excellent prices! You might also want to turn a blind eye to their poorly dried dishes.

A five-star restaurant for 2 people (the night before) cost me 240$. An evening at Deer Garden for 6 (with service) cost 142$. This is a BYOW restaurant, so by all means, bring it.

The food was VERY fresh and abundant. The soups were hot, the spinach was extra crispy. I have nothing to say except I ate too fast. The brocoli was cooked just right, the Tao Chicken, Lemon Chicken, Beef à l’Orange and Shrimp were all delicious. The dumplings were as good as any. The only downside is I wrote an order of Imperial Rolls for us 6 and never got them, which isn’t a bad thing in itself because nothing more could fit into our stomaches. The service is quick. Food was arriving from everywhere onto the table (which might be a little overwhelming), and this influences you to eat fast, if you want to eat it while it’s hot.

Overall, would go there again because of the freshness and quick service.

“Noodle soups among best I've ever had”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 12, 2010

My wife and I were both very impressed with the pork & wonton noodle soup. And you will not want to waste a single drop of the broth. Best we've had outside of NYC's Chinatown

“Want good food? This isn't it.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2010

The General Tao tasted like hotdogs in batter, orange beef was over-done, burnt to a crisp, deep fried beef fat in a sticky sauce that remotely tasted of orange lollipops. Even the veg was disappointing with the water chestnuts tasting of mold. If you're craving Chinese food, go back down the street to one of the little hole-in-the-walls. The Deer Garden is a waste of space and money.
