Description: PASSION CREATIO CHALLENGE. Behind Fushi stand a father and son who are passionate about fusion cuisine. Their goal was to create something unique and different. First, there is the refinement and elegance of the place made and executed in an intimate collaboration with the exceptional Montreal designer Jean-Pierre Viau. The ensuing result is nothing less than a striking decor. Under an amber light, privacy and comfort are perfect preamble to the coveted pleasures of the table. In the same vein, special attention was paid to the choice of dishes created exclusively for Fu.shi by the talented and renowned Quebec ceramicist Pascale Girardin. The platters were also carefully chosen one by one in order to offer customers a unique visual experience and constantly renewed. Once done, a plate will never be decorated the same way again, like a temporal design in sand.

As avid sushi lovers, my boyfriend and I came across an ad for this restaurant in a Montreal travel guide book, where Fushi's reputation supposedly earned it the 'best sushi in North America' honour. So we knew we had to try it and see for ourselves. We got there around 8:30 on a Tuesday night, and saw that it wasn't very packed. The menu featured numerous interesting sushi rolls (amongst other items). Service was a bit slow (we waited almost an hour before our food arrived) and my boyfriend and I were starting to think 'North America's best sushi? More like North America's slowest service'. But.....once the food arrived, we instantly regretted any negative thoughts. That sushi WAS DELICIOUS. Definitely worth the wait and definitely a must for any true sushi lover. Best sushi restaurant we've ever been to, that's for sure!

Excellent sushi and sashimi here! Also very good selelction of sake it imports. Our waiter was very helpful in helping us select a sake from the wine list. The sushi, maki and rolls are very varied and extremely fresh. Food so good afterwards I went to the back to thank the sushi chef!

Up: excellent presentation, sauces with the sushis are amazing. Very different sushis. From the tasteful flavours of the sushis to the original eatable garnishes. The plates were very extravagant. First time I taste the sushis flambé: very impressing.

Down: service a bit slow and many ingredients weren't available. For a Saturday night all the Ingredients should be in house.

I'm only writing this review because of the treatment we received last night. We called ahead for reservations and got there in time, but 10 minutes after we were seated the owner (Claude ) asked as to move to another table because his friend and fellow restaurant owner was coming with more guests. We swallowed our pride and moved to a table with terrible harsh lighting thus spoiling a rather perfect night. Then our food came and there was very little to write home about. Tasty food, but nothing out of the norm as the website toots.

I came to Montreal for the weekend with my wife and discovered the best sushi place!!! We reserved on a saturday night and the place was full, thus the service and food was impeccable. We were being taken care by 3 different waiters and the owner himself who even took the time to speak with us. We will definitly return when we come back to montreal.
