We ate at Carlos and Pepe's this past weekend. My husband had the mahi mahi tacos, I had fajitas and we also ordered the coconut shrimp. Our main plates were actually pretty good, (a decent price point too), but our shrimp was delivered well after we received our other food and they were very overcooked. They tasted like sysco brand pre-made shrimp that you just pop into the deep fryer...nothing special about them.
When our waiter came over to ask how everything was he actually turned away before we could answer... The restaurant seems very understaffed and the staff are hurried/frantic, (our waiter was visibly sweating).
I don't think we would ever give this place a try again...there are so many restaurants to try in Montreal and we have had better Mexican/TexMex at other locations.
