“Great service, beautiful restaurant, interesting food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 13, 2014

The experience as a whole was really nice. It was a memorable night, for sure.

First of all, the service was great. The wine connoisseur seemed to be quite knowledgeable and helped us choose a really nice red Canadian wine.
The food was great and really interesting. The renowned chef had great ideas and the dishes brought out to us were even beautiful to see.
If you go during the summer and sit outside, make sure you go inside to see how the restaurant is decorated. There is a mold of a whale spine... really cool.
I would definitely go back.

“Great Evening”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 5, 2014 via mobile

We tried this restaurant because it was a pleasant walk from our hotel. The food was delicious. Wonderful combinations of things to make wonderful dishes. Our waiter, I think his name was Jann but not sure, was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Mains are in the $40 plus range, but such care and time to prepare them was evident in the result. Worth the visit.

Thank you for your great review!
We are delighted to hear Yann took such good care of you. Your kind words have been transmitted to him.
Thank you also for pointing out the attention we pay to each plate.
Our chef Eric Gonzalez and his team do have a genuine concern for detail.
This being said, we hope to serve you again soon and have a wonderful day!

“Excellent dîner”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 3, 2014 via mobile

We were a party of 4 and had reserved for 7:00 Pm. Tables are spacious and staff are attentive. We tried the discovery menu 8 services with the wine pairing ( 7 wines). Now mind you that this is a dinning experience and if you choose this menu, it will set your pocket book back a few bucks (160$ per person). The sommelier was friendly and knew his wines. And of course with this menu, you have to take your time to taste and enjoy the excellent food. We took 4 hours. Finally, every one had a great time and we enjoyed of evening.

“Overpriced and underwhelmed”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2014

The food is mediocre. The portions are ridiculously small. The prices are ridiculously high. Don't waste your time and money. There are so many better restaurants in Montreal.

“Very good food, very expensive dinner in ancient stone building”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2014

It is said that this location has been in continuous operation since at least the mid-1700's and has the first liquor license issued in North America. The restaurant is much larger inside than it appeared from outside, and there are interesting craft pieces on the walls. The food was quite good, although we felt overly-expensive.
