“Good not great”

The food was good, however when you consider the price, I would recommend better restaurants like Europea, the Beaver club and Delmo.

“Ambience with a capital A”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 1, 2012

We chose this restaurant for a friend's birthday after rave recommendations from others. We weren't disappointed. Service was attentive and pleasant with lots of unexpected touches such as several different amuse bouches along the way. We had a leisurely meal and never felt rushed. Plates were exquisitely presented and focused on taste over quantity. While the restaurant filled up after our arrival we never felt intruded upon and background noise seemed to soak into the stone walls rather than bounce back into the room. The bill was significant but not outrageous, and our friend was delighted with her special evening. I will definitely return.

“Buon Appetit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2012

We dined for lunch which was incredible!! The restaurants there have a menu that offers two or three choices from appetizers/entrees/desserts. You pick two for one price and three for another. We decided to choose three, one of each. I had a fabulous salad with pear and candied pecans and went on to a Duck breast with the side dishes and then had dessert which was small sugared donuts with a chocolate mousse on the side and a scoop of ice cream. My travelling partner had the same salad but a different entree which was a pasta with braised beef which was very delicious but a different dessert which was also very delicious. The breads were incredible!!! The service and atmosphere were superb! I wish that I could frequent this restaurant on a regular basis.

“Wonderful celebration”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2012

After a few setbacks, my friends and I finally managed to dine at Auberge Le Vieux St. Gabriel. We were celebrating a belated birthday for my friend. We all enjoyed our meal choices. Frederick, our waiter, attended to our every need and queries in both official languages. Each dish is presented in such an artistic way, one is tempted not to eat it but just gaze upon it. We all enjoyed our respective main courses immensely along with the 'amuse bouche' that preceded each course.

As a dessert, my companions chose the Snow Ball, which is for 2 people, but easily served all three of us, with dessert to spare. We will return.
