“Great restaurant but very pricey”
Reviewed April 28, 2012

I went there 2 times and both with coworkers. The food is really good, especially the soup minestrone and the risotto dishes. Yes, they have one sea food risotto and one lamb risotto. Both are amazing. Dessert is good as well. The only thing is that it is quite pricey. Main dishes are generally $25 to $35. It is worth trying at least once though!

“Favourite Montreal restaurant”
Reviewed April 3, 2012

This restaurant has been a family favorite for a while for many reasons the foremost being the excellence of service, the quality And consistency of the food and it's versatility. Whether you are searching for the perfect place for a romantic date, or a fun night out with friends and family this is the it spot to go to. Also, if you are looking for a place to have a private party, this the place to do it bc of the beautiful lounge area there is in the basement. You can even be your own dj as there is a comouter that can play your iPod playlists or even any YouTube song u chose. Recently, I did my sister's shower there and it was superb. All the guests were impressed by the food and the service and decor. The location of the restaurant is also ideal if you have an event to attend to at the bell centre bc not only is it walking distance from it, but the restaurant organizes to bring u there. In my opinion a good restaurant has amazing food, but a fantastic restaurant has amazing food and service and Da Vinci's is one of the few amazing restaurants in the city. You can tell that everyone there is happy to work there and try to make each time you go there a special experience. If you start going regularly you will see that most of the people are all regulars as well so clearly they are doing something right! Vince, the co-owner and manager of the front of the house is always there making each customer feel welcomed and appreciated and then there is chef Ronato the chef owner that runs the kitchen and who is always there as well making sure that every dish is perfect. If you enjoy wine, they have a very good and extensive wine list. If you go I suggest you try the salmon carpaccio, the shrimp risotto or the huge steak, which are all sinfully delicious. If you are lucky, they sometimes have the black cod as the fish of the day which is my personal favorite. Im sure if you try this place, you too shall become a regular client!

“Montreal's finest !!!”
Reviewed March 17, 2012

It was my first time going to Da Vinci and had never read anything about it so didn't know what to expect. Had I had expectations this experience would've certainly surpass anything I could've hoped for. We were delightfully greeted upon our arrival and already you could feel that the atmosphere was one of professionnalism but without being too uptight. The restaurant was busy with an heterogeneous mix of customers and being seated next to a fireplace, we already felt very cozy. The service was efficient and impeccable. One of our guests wanted help in choosing what to order and the waiter knew exactly what to recommend according to her taste. We had a variety of appetizers including mouth watering shrimps, perfectly cooked scallops as well as a paper thin salmon carpaccio seasoned with the exact amount of balance of acidity and texture to enhance the fish. Although quite simple and fresh the combination of flavors were right on point everytime. It is far too often that seafood is overcooked in restaurants and although a basic element I cannot count the number of time I've eaten shrimps that were way too cooked and rubbery. When you see a restaurant like Da Vinci that nails the simple things like perfectly cooking seafood and everything that we had it does not need to be overly complicated, less really is more. As for the entrees, we had a plate of farfalle with salmon that had one of our guest almost lick the plate. The wine that was recommended to us was an exquisite italian white wine from the Piemont region and was a discovery for all of our guests that wanted to rush out to the SAQ to stock their homes. As for the deserts, which are usually a let down in too many restaurants as well, we were pleasantly surprised to feast on a mix of traditional sicilian cannoli, the infamous tiramisu and a vanilla crème brulée that were just the right size not to overindulge. This restaurant has been around for many years and now I understand why. The consistancy in quality and service are simple elements but all so hard to maintain and execute but in the long run they are key and Da Vinci is the living proof. I as well as my guests will return without a doubt as it has definitely skyrocketed to my top restaurants in Montreal,
