Jet Boating the Lachine rapids is not only a local tourist attraction, but a symbol of the spirit, history, fun and adventure that make Montreal a world-class tourist destination. Exciting, thrilling, wet, wild, exhilarating...what an experience!!! If you are in Montreal, you absolutely must do this. It is quite inexpensive for what you get (about $ 600 for 9 of us). Sit on the sides and in the front for more thrills. The boat did crazy stuff, but at no point did it seem unsafe or out of control.

“You don't want to miss this!”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

If you are in Montreal and would like to experience something different and exciting, this activity is definitely for you! It might be quite expensive for those on a tight budget, but the trip is worth every penny. The ride in the rapids is fun from beginning to end. Prepare to get drenched because you certainly can't (and don't want to) escape the waves! Just great on a hot day like we can get in Montreal during the summer! The staff is great and takes good care of the visitors. The guides are fun and very nice. The whole thing is very well organized (they have lockers for you to put your stuff, cabins where you can get changed, raincoats that they lend you if necessary, etc.). Don't worry about anything and just enjoy the ride!

“Do It! Do It! Do It! My Family had a Blast!!”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

This is by far, the most thrilling boat trip I ever had. It was quite expensive for our family of four (2 adults, 2 kids...12 and 9) but well worth every penny. The whole team is outstanding from getting your water boots, to ponchos, and life jackets, they were all top notch. There is a safety video to watch as well.

They have changing rooms (you will get soaked) and a locker room where they keep your valuables and give you a locker tag.

Once on the boat, it was so much fun. Our guide was Max and he's outstanding! Very humorous and knowledgeable about all things Montreal. He informed us on everything that was going to take place and he was spot on!! It took about 20 minutes to drive to the rapids but once you're there, it's a thrill beyond belief.

This is a must do if visiting the Old Port of Montreal. Our kids loved it and so did we!!

“Once the boat starts moving, it's amazing!”
Reviewed August 25, 2013

Overall this was an excellent activity because the time we spent in the rapids was UNREAL. Getting onto the boat takes 20 minutes but after the formalities its well worth the wait. You haven't ever boated like this before, if you want to get slammed by large volumes of water (like me) then sit in the front row (left and right corners) or 2nd from the front anywhere. Getting mashed by enormous waves in a beast of a boat is really like nothing you've done before! Do it for sure!!

“Drenched. Loved it.”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

The rapids, class IV during the summer, and sometimes class V, when the water is high, are the wildest in proximity to an urban center. A real treat for everyone who enjoys a thrill - and getting drenched. A roller-coaster of thrills on the St Lawrence River. The staff is talented, humorous, and works to ensure everyone has a good time and is safe. We wanted to be in the front row (like many others), but didn't have that happen. No worries at all - you'll have a most enjoyable time no matter where you're sitting on the boat. There was some fun history along the way to familiarize with some of Montreal's roots - like the fact that the explorers were trying to find a way to China when they go stymied by the rapids - and La Chine got appropriated to become the Lachine Rapids. The rapids kept ships from moving further upstream and resulted in the founding of a settlement on the shores that ultimately became Montreal. All out fun. Don't miss it.
