“A Very Special Place In Montreal”
Reviewed August 17, 2013

Montreal is a special place and Chez Francois is quite special as well. Francois is a warm and welcoming host as is Laurence, his talented second-in-command. My husband and I (from Toronto) and friends from Massachusetts have been staying with them each June for years. Their breakfasts are always something to look forward to as are the conversations around trhe table. Chez Francois is located right across from a large beautiful park which you can walk through without any concerns coming home from evenings out. (Chez Fancois also has free parking, a major plus in a large city.) Rue Saint-Denis with its many restaurants, shops and clubs is not far, as well as rue Duluth with its good selection of "bring your own wine" restaurants.

My wife and I stayed at Accueil Chez Francois during our honeymoon in Montreal, from July 13 - 18. Met with two gracious hosts, delicious breakfasts each morning (except for the day we decided to sleep in late!), and as much hospitality as could ever be asked for, we would not hesitate to stay again should we make a trip back to the city. Montreal is a fantastic place in general, but our experience was made truly outstanding through the great stay we had at this bed & breakfast. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: We stayed in Room #4, located at the front of the building. We enjoyed the easy access to the entran...

Francois really took care of the place. The B&B was immaculate, and well organized. Service excellent. Not only did our host guided us well, his advise and his personally served breakfast are great!

I have 2 strikes against the B&B! (1) Coming from New York City, getting to a Metro (subway) stop was a long 15 minute walk. (2) He had room for us for one night, but was not able to accommodate us for a second night. He did help us to find another B&B though!

I stayed at Accueil Chez Francois B&B from July 11 to July 13 and really enjoyed my stay. I stayed in Room 3 at the back of the building and it was very quiet, clean, SILENT air conditioning, ample parking in the rear of the building and a great shower. The meals were excellent as was the hospitality. I would not hesitate to recommend Accueil Chez Francois B&B to my family and friends and this will be my go to place whenever I visit Montreal.

Room Tip: I would suggest opting for Room 3 at the rear of the building as it is nice and quiet.

The location, the food, the attention to detail; everything was great. Francois was so helpful and friendly, he greeted us upon arrival and gave us a quick overview of the neighborhood. We were then turned over to the weekend manager, Laurance, who is just a pleasure to be around. She guided us to different locations & restaurants in the city, prepared a delicious breakfast in the morning and took care of any needs that arose. The property is ideally located near shops and restaurants and across the street from the beautiful Parc La Fontaine. Our room was clean, comfortable and well-appointed with everything we needed. It was great being able to park our car behind the home & not have to worry about driving or parking in a new city. We look forward to another visit to Montreal and Chez Francois.

We had a nightmare journey getting to the B&B as all of the traffic lights were not working due to a power failure, so were several hours late in arriving. We were warmly welcomed & given directions to a road full of restaurants so we could eat!! We left the car for 2 days & spent the time walking around the old town & the jazz festival downtown. We intended to use public transport, but found everything just within walking distance, although we were exhausted at the end of each day! Great breakfasts..lovely sitting round discussing the days events. Loads of great tips etc from Francois.

All the reviews are spot on.
We had room No 3, comfy beds great bathroom with shower and nice and quiet. There were 2 other bedrooms that shared a bathroom, a lounge area with comfy seating and TV, computer to use, a fridge and glasses and bottle opener and a washing machine and dryer for guests to use.
Francois welcomed us warmly, and gave us lots of information on things going on and local transport, shops and restaurants.
Breakfasts were a friendly affair with guests and Francois chatting as breakfast was served.
We would cetainly stay again and tell other to do so, but be aware, you need to either drive or use local transport to get to where everything was going on.
