Beautiful venue. Wonderful concert with superb young conductor who has full control of the orchestra as he leads with passion and exquisite detail for changing sounds, paces, instruments.

Amazing building. The setting inside is fabulous! And the acoustics are simply outstanding! We saw Véronic DiCaire in concert with the OSM. What a concert! Treat yourself and go see a concert at the Maison.

This was my first visit as part of a group to hear classical music (maestro Kent Nagano conducting Bruckner). The performance was amazing and the sound effects were fantastic.
This modern concert hall opened in 2011 to house the OSM (the imposing organ was added a few years later). It can seat 2100 spectators and can accommodate up to 120 musicians and a choir of 200 singers. The finishing is in Quebec beech wood and the seating is well thought of providing lots of leg room and space for people to move by.
The whole setting and the orchestra make for a great musical experience.

We attended a concert on March 15 and we enjoyed it. Kent Nagano conducting and three violinists from three Canadian orchestras performing a contemporary triple violin concerto, it was marvelous. They also performed Mozart’s Prague symphony (No. 38) and Dvorak’s symphony No. 8. I would attend another concert if I visit Montreal again.

If you get the chance to listen to a concert in the “Maison symphonique”, you are going to be charmed. If it’s one of the organ concert, you will get blown away, sit higher if so and facing the front since the organ is up top. The music is really soothing, the seats are larger and comfortable, nice leg room too. Drink available before or at break. Elevator and paid parking available.
