“memorable... will definitely be back.”
Reviewed May 2, 2007

We were looking for someplace to stay that was decent priced but also half decent. We searched for a while until we came to the University B&B website. I wrote some emails back and fourth with Alana, she replied quickly and in full details. We ended up booking our two night stay here, and we were pleasantly surprised. We got into Montreal early, and we got a taxi to UB&B and were greeted by two lively women, with great personalities. One of them brought us to our rooms, and though it wasn’t cleaned yet, she held on to our luggage for us while we went and got lunch so we didn’t have to drag it around.

Our location was great, we walked about two streets over and we were in the center of it all. Restaurants, bars, shopping... anything you could ask for. We ate lunch at a little cafe and went back to our spotless room. It was perfect, cozy and very clean. Fit myself and friends taste. We were excited to call this our home for the next three days. The beds were incredible too; i don't think we've ever slept that well, which is probably why we missed the breakfast both days. As well, we had a nice large deck off our bedroom which had a beautiful view of the old buildings and houses around us.

Overall, we couldn’t have been more satisfied. Our room was everything we were looking for and more. We cannot wait to return, which we will be doing for sure in the next few months. But this time, we are definitely staying more than 2 nights!

See you soon!

The University B&B has been a place of sentimental interest to me and my wife, our first stay was in the Brick Room so we went back to spend some time in Montréal and be back in a place that had some meaning to us. We loved it because it feels like a small Parisian apartment to us, in fact we commented that (in our typically bohemian fashion perhaps) that we could easily live in such a place. The breakfast room reminds me of hostels in Europe, the traveler wakes up, walks upstairs and meets some of the other travelers...a beautiful way to start a day in Montréal. It's thoroughly charming and we'll be back.

This was my second time at the University B&B, the third in Montreal and the first with my wife, half vacationing and half working locally.
Well, there is no place like the White Suite at this hotel to have a bite at the incredible, multicultural, flamboyant joie de vivre that sparks from every corner of Montreal.
The big apartment, the cozy bedroom, the kitchenette and the nice bathroom conjure to make you feel at home, while the hi-tech finishing touches bring a note of new millenium to an otherwise chic and casual ambience.
Add some local food from the mart at the corner, the tranquil breakfast with Fairmount bagels and the snowy, silent nights watching movies and skyping friends back home and you go for the perfect equation. We will try to go back soon for summer: next time no snow, just jazz.

I was enchanted by the photos of the B&B while viewing them online, which was what prompted me to contact the property in the first place. Upon arrival I was greeted with warmth, welcome, and a friendly smile. The staff at this B&B went out of their way to make my stay a pleasant, as well as a convenient one. I would reccommend University Bed and Breakfast to anyone : )

In a pleasant neighborhood near the main campus of McGill University, convenient for visiting Montreal. Our suite (the "White Suite") had all the basics, with a kitchenette, couch, and separate bedroom, with breakfast in a bright dining room. Not fancy but clean and well maintained, fairly priced, and with a friendly, helpful young staff. Will happily look to stay there again on my next visit to Montreal.

In a nut shell, the best Best B&B ive seen, and i traveled all of North America. Me and my love came to have a nice romantic weekend, on a very busy schedule. Perfect location for us to visit both University McGill and Concordia. For the horrible (and useless) comments made by a previous person, to my experience they were completly wrong. We were given a map of montreal with all the info we needed, like rules, and guidlines to follow (ask for towels if you need them, wake us up if anything, etc). For those who complain about them not making your bed... come on, are you that lazy? To me, them not making our beds, actually gave me a sense of familliarity, like im at home, which only makes you feel better. Washrooms are small, but everything is small and cuddly, I didnt need any bigger.
The only con i found was the english attitude. What i mean by that is that when they answer the phone english, when they talk to you, english, and we are in a french province, BUT then i realised that my problem with this anglisism was all over the neighborhood. Im from Quebec city and Montreal made me feel like im in the rest of Canada or US and not in my Province.

Beware!! The only good thing is the central location. Continental breakfast is what we got.
