“Nothing beats a morning walk to Monkland”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2013

With so many coffee, brunch or lunch places to go to on Monkland, it's a great area to visit. Most restaurants also serve dinners and some do it very well. Parking can be a challenge on a nice day and make sure you feed the meters otherwise you can almost be guaranteed that meal is going to cost you an extra $52.

“small town in the big city”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2013

Monkland Village, as its known, is a lively but laid back stretch of the NDG area, in the west-end of the city. Many delightful places to eat or have a coffee or snack - Première Moisson, Mikado, St-Viatur Bagel, Patisserie de Nancy, Bankok Express, etc. Good specialty stores - health food, children's gifts, teas, butcher shop, good video store. Specially nice for a stroll on a nice day.

“Snobby, expensive and boring”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2013

Monkland avenue is the shopping and restaurant street in Monkland village. This area serves the urban but suburban area of Notre Dame de Grace.
The shops are run of the mill with almost no reason to make the trek to visit, the restaurants are fairly commonplace expensive and for the most part rude.

I would avoid it unless you have to be there.

“Where I'd like to live!”

Cutest neighbourhood in Montreal. At night time, all the lights in the trees set a romantic atmosphere. Love the dining there too.
