A large group of us recently stayed in the hotel for a business event. There were around 35 of us, with around 25 also staying in the hotel.
The room provided for the meeting space was fantastic - it completely wipes the floor with the meeting spaces often provided by hotels. The space at the Opus was high ceilinged and very light due to the large windows. One comment would be that some blinds to protect the content that we were displaying would be handy, but that's an easy fix!
The rooms were great, perhaps a little dark as there was no 'main' light, but plenty of lamps and stand lights to make up for it and very spacious for heading back to in order to catch up on emails!
The bar was chilled and friendly in the evenings with some top notch bar staff like Daryl and Silvio - both of whom absolutely made our stay fantastic along with the rest of the Koko staff! Saturday was also a really great night in the bar, a good chance to relax and have some drinks after the long week - but the staff clearly respected guests as a number of our colleagues were moved to the other side of the hotel if they weren't planning on being out in the evening so as to avoid any noise issues.
We were told by the staff during our stay that the hotel had come under new management within the last couple of weeks, so can only assume that changes are afoot in order to address the previously noted issues; but in my view as someone that has travelled around the world on business in a range of hotels - this one hit a good note and whilst not a 5* Langham, was a great Boutique Hotel find in Montreal.
