Owner description: This show happens SUNDAY nights! Shows start at 8:15pm. Comedy Abroad happens weekly, where top Montreal comics perform at M Bar. The crowd is international, the comics are hilarious, and the beer is cheap (swish!). Top Montreal pros and fast-rising-amateurs take to the stage. Our comics have performed at Just For Laughs, Edinburgh Fringe, Melbourne International, Halifax Comedy Festival, Winnipeg Comedy Festival, & been on network television in Canada, USA, and Australia. We're a "pay-by-donation" meaning there's no charge to come in, grab a seat, enjoy the show. We'll ask you for a donation later on in the evening. We'd love it if you could kick us a $8-10 - especially if you had a blast, but pay-what-you-feel. Did we mention the beer is cheap? We just did! Showtime is 8:15pm, every Sunday night. Happy hour starts at 7:15 with even cheaper prices. We're near Metro Berri UQAM. Bring senses of humour!

for the most part is was a good night of almost free entertainment, a small donation is asked for at the end. The best comedian was Gino Durante keep the look for him. it's up and coming comedic acts that are roaming to get to big time. Worth the time for sure. The drinks are good and reasonable by anyone standards.( picture of beer $11.00. I saw ppl bring in their own food and grab a beer from the bar and enjoyed. Mostly 21 to 25 year olds but that didn't stop us old folk of 46...lol It was a good night! life is short, Enjoy it! Free parking behind the building for the show:)

This is an awesome room. The producer does an excellent job of finding quality acts every week. The room is cozy and intimate and comfortable, AND the drinks are unbelievably cheap.

If you are in Montreal, on a Thursday night, save yourself the money of the standard comedy club show, and go to the Comedy Hostel instead.

Also, it's not just for travelers. Locals welcomed, too : )

We decided to come here for a Thursday show after a tip-off on Couchsurfing. We made our way to the venue, and were somewhat apprehensive as it looked as though the venue was located in the basement of a car park. When we entered however, we were really impressed with both the venue and how packed it was (we had got there 15 minutes after the start of the show). The acts were well curated and some were really really funny. In all there were seven acts when we went. The suggested contribution on the website was only $6 and the show was more than worth that. Also the drinks were really cheap ($11 pitchers!). All in all, we had a fantastic time.
