We were in Montreal and by chance found Palais Montcalm. First of all there was plenty of free off street parking, which is always nice. The place was lively crowded with locals. We were seated in a very comfortable table. Our waitress was friendly, nice and made the experience even better. The rest rooms were clean, again a plus. Now the food- wonderful wonderful wonderful! This was to be our last meal before we hit the road back home. We started with escargot - they were cooked just right- in a nice light broth with a hint of spring onion. The taste of the escargot came through without the heavy butter and garlic that you get in most places. We then had french onion soup, the broth was not overly salted, which was great, the bread in the soup still had texture and the cheese was generous and melted just right. Again terrific. For our entree we had the combination skish ka bob (meat on a stick). The chicken was so tender and melted in our mouth, loved it!! the meal was served with a Greek salad, rice pilaf and roasted potatoes. This meal made our trip. !! When we are in Montreal again, we will go back!! highly highly recommended!!
