I had an absolutely delicious sirloin steak at l'Atelier Argentine. The waiters were friendly, polite and helpful. The music and ambience were fantastic. I would definitely return!

“Not bad, but missing something”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

This was a fine Argentine restaurant, and the entrees were OK and good, but nothing we had was exceptional. The selection was a little overwhelming if anything, and the atmosphere, even at 2300h, was a bit on the loud side. The ambiance seemed a little 2000s TriBeCa which might suit some but since I live there it's a bit done.

“Excellent Service”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

We went to Atelier d'Argentine on the first night of Montreal en Lumiere Festival. We were a little late on our reservation and had to go to a show later during the night. We asked our server if we could have a more rapid service since we were going to Place des Arts after dinner. He told us that it would be just in time for the festival meal. Actually this server had just started his job there two weeks prior. He gave us an excellent recommendation for wine, and then the platters started to come starting with the bread which was excellent, followed by an entree of clams that was very good. Then came the salad, which was good but not awesome.
The main entree was bavette beef braised with a mustard crust and rustic potatoes, again good. The desert was chocolate Bariloche, very good.
What made that we had a beautiful dinner was the ambiance of the restaurant and the excellent service of our waiter and all the people working at Atelier d'Argentine. The wine recommendation was awesome.

“Nice place... but did not live to expectations”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

We went to this restaurant for Valentines'. They had a special menu for the occasion. At our arrival. the hostesses at the entrance felt a bit lost. I gave my name for the reservation and then gave them our coats... meanwhile people arriving after us were seated before us and when i got closer to the hostess again, she greeted me like it was the first time! Once seated, we ordered the Valentines' special menu with the accompanying wines. We started with the Shitaki soup. Although it did not look appealing in the plate, it was much better in the mouth. The texture in the plate was not appealing at all. We then had the scallop (1) with a tasty sauce. Our entrée was a roasted leg of lamb which was quite tasty. And we finished dinner with a an ok blackberry and chocolate desert. The wine choices and Porto at the end were exquisite but the meal did not live up to expectation.
One more thing that my wife noticed: given the fanciness of the restaurant, it was strange to see the waiters wearing different color jeans. Since they were all wearing white shirts, it would have been good to have them share the same pants color/design as well.
Overall, i had an enjoyable night but I had higher expectations.

“Nice Change”
Reviewed February 12, 2013

Excellent bar, drinks well made, perfect Caesar, Manhattan, and a remarkable Chilean wine with dinner. Steaks were tasty but not large, fish (trout) was very good and the breaded chicken was amazing. Appetizers were the best with the thin sliced octopus outstanding. Desserts were very sweet coffees were perfect. Seating on the left hand side of the restaurant as you enter (only section open on a Tuesday night ) not very comfortable unlike the right hand side cushioned seats.
