Father's Day! A special occasion that was not noted by the staff: reception by the hostess very snobish; although the reservation had been made ahead for the terrace she coldly told us that it had been full for the past 3 months. She then asked us to sit at the bar cause our reservation was for 12:00 and it was 11:50, eaven though only 1 table was occupied inside by a party of 6, who were waiting to be seated outside as we found out when she escorted us to our table!
Finally, the Maître D was kind enough to take care of us and kindly and professionnaly escorted us to a very nice table outside!
The food: a la carte limited menu (not a brunch); 2 courses $39., 3 courses $49., a bottle of Brouilly $68. +tx. Good food but not Wow! The brunch (buffet) at the golf course in LaPrairie is much more reasonnable and the setting is magnifico! Tablecloth on the table (and napkins) and friendly staff.
The service at Maison Boulud is not up to the Ritz's standards; I ate there quite a few times before and I miss the old terrace and restaurant and, the much more professionnal service. There are others in Montreal with nice terraces and ambiance!
