I stayed for one night for business. The hotel was paid for and I had no idea about the price...until now since I am writting a review ...This hotel is very well situated in the heart of old Montreal. The check in was smooth and cordial. The lobby is filled with fresh flowers. This hotel is in fact 3 buildings that were renovated. I was told that I was in the first building . The room was of a very nice size, very charming with dark harwood floors, exposed bick wll, very high ceiling (at least 10 feet), nice appointed bathroom. Classical music was playing...very charming. The bed was king size and so comfortable! I slept very well despite a little noise outside.
They offer free wi-fi, a thick bathrobe. If you have time, there is also a spa on the premises.
We had supper in the Aix restaurant. The Table d'hôte was 35$ and the food was of high quality, well executed.
the conference rooms are of different sizes. The food at lunch time was very good . Of course it always depends on what the organizer ordered. We were served salmon, chickne, and a vegetarian lasagan with grilled vegetables etc.

Glag I had the occasion to try this hotel, might not have done it on my own

Room Tip: ask for a room in building "one"

We married and held our reception at the hotel during the Thanksgiving long weekend. The hotel staff offered great service every step of the way and were very polite and accommodating. All of our guests loved the sexy vibe of Suite 701, where we held our cocktails. The food was excellent and the dinner service flowed smoothly. We stayed two nights in the spacious yet cozy junior suite - the exposed brick walls are a charming touch! This hotel does not compromise on quality and we would definitely stay there again.

We had reserved the Penthouse suite for two nights, october 6-th to 8th. Upon arrival, we were told we could not have access to a Penthouse suite for a night; they wanted to put us in an executive suite, then swtich us for a second night to the Penthouse. This did not go over with me well, but the hotel, I have to say, made amends, and I understood. They had 3 weddings that weekend, and they made my stay enjoyable. Their service attendant, Tanya, was simply amazing. She is really outstanding and made sure we received free valet parking, a sizeable discount on our stay, and a free meal. Thank you Tanya. The hotel is great. Location is a huge plus, but the staff are what make this work; every staff member you meet is world class, and thats a HUGE plus. The Penthouse suite, was amazing. I'm trying to find ways to schedule things on my end so I can return shortly. I know, my girlfriend really appreciated being brought water and chocoloates in the evenings, and the concierge Renne is, a treasure. Great Hotel, Amazing staff= how can you have a bad stay?

Room Tip: ALWAYS get a suite, preferably executive or Penthouse.

The room was very comfortable - and the staff was responsive.
The roof deck is lovely - as are many around the Old Port.
Not enough light in the bathroom, if you ask me.
The shower was huge, though.
We were located right by the elevator, but it wasn't a problem.
We had a fireplace in our room.

Two stays-both in the third building.

Pros:

Overall a great location in Old Montreal. Very close to the downtown and a block from the Place D'Armes metro stop. A very comfortable, clean place to stay and we will stay here again.

Cons:

The WIFI in the first room we stayed in (3602) did not work.

The laziest concierge-that man has no business being in the business. We found out more information via our phones (when we found working WIFI). The typical direction for breakfast/lunch is the Olive +Gourmando (good) and for dinner is the Modavie-(fair to poor) a restaurant owned by the owner of this hotel.

For our second stay, we stayed in room 3501 on the weekend. Saturday night was really noisy-all the way to 4am. The was a wedding reception being held in the hotel and the guests were quite rowdy taking their drinks out to the street. I'm surprised the hotel allowed that.

Room Tip: In the third building, stay away from the 1st room next to the elevate. Anything with a 3*01.

Planning to be in Montreal for a three-night stay we found the Place D'Armes offered a very reasonably-priced package that included parking, breakfast, and a complimentary cocktail. Our room, in one of the three renovated former commercial buildings that comprise the property, was quite small in terms of square footage (the high ceiling partially compensated) and nicely outfitted; the pillow-top bed was too soft to be completely comfortable, however. The Continental breakfast featured a nice selection and the breakfast room (the cocktail lounge in the evening) is an elegant, light-filled space. My partner enjoyed the fitness center. The staff of the hotel was friendly, professional, and accommodating. The location of the hotel, at the edge of Old Montreal across from the basilica, is excellent for walking to Ste. Catharine Street shopping, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Place des Arts, and even the Gai Village for the hardy.

I find this a little less remarkable than others. It's good, clean, elegant and attentive. It also has small rooms, broken blinds and broken cue tips. Doesn't seem important, except the apparent manager of the cleaning staff got on the elevator and instead of waiting for the guests to leave, showed us she was more important that us by leaving first and then blocking the small hall by stopping and speaking with a staff member.

That's the real hotel. It's very good, but it's about them.

Thank Upperny
