We stayed at the Sofitel Montreal on the 15th, checked out one day earlier but not due to the hotel. We liked the Sofitel because it was really pet friendly, and this trip we had our furry daughter with us. They gave us a regular room (usually most pet-friendly hotels will give us designated rooms that smell "pet-friendly"), and after delivering our luggage, promptly hung a sign that says "Pet In Room", which was a nice touch.

Room was very clean, bath products from Lanvin, safe, most comfortable king size bed we had slept on in a while in hotels. Decent front desk staffs, very attentive bell hops; but pretty aloof concierge staff, I was a bit hesitant to ask him for restaurant suggestions.

We had drinks in the hotel bar, a gin & tonic and black label on the rocks came out to CAD28 plus the 15% tax and tips, pretty steep even to Americans coming from NYC.

Upon checking out, the valet cost CAD35 for the overnight parking. We paid for the convenience of not having to circle around looking for a spot that night, and having to get up early to move it, plus the Montreal parking signs are so confusing (being written in French and in British signs didn't help).

All in all, the Sofitel Montreal is a pretty decent hotel given the price we paid. If visiting the city again with our furry daughter, we might come back here.

Guess this is an OK business hotel, checks the boxes, service is pleasant and professional but where there is an opportunity they overcharge horribly. Breakfast for two USD70 plus for food thats OK, nothing special. Stay away from the $30 dollar room service hamburger, terrible. Whole place lacks something, not sure what. Central and convenient but maybes its the whole French aloofness approach to service that put me off...

We checked in Saturday for an anniversary celebration and enjoyed the most wonderful evening! Our stay was memorable and worth every penny. The staff, hotel, room, breakfast, and location were all top-notch. Highly recommend that you enjoy Crescent Street at night and Museum of Fine Arts in the day.

I stayed in The Sofitel for two weeks on a business trip in August/Setember 2013. This was my fourth time.
The room was large, comfortable and well equipped. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The restaurant and bar served quality with efficiency. Even the general manager (Stephanie) made a point of introducing herself and regularly reviewing my stay. The gym was small but well equipped with cardio equipment, weights, tv and radio.
Every member of staff was friendly and efficient including the people who serviced my room, the reception/concierge, room service staff and Melissa and Marco were particularly welcoming in the bar.
I have another two week trip planned in October and look forward to returning.
Highly recommended.

Room Tip: All rooms have been excellent. Iv'e been in four different ones.
