My boss took me here for early lunch (breakfast) and I was not disappointed. He had the Parisian and I chose La Basquaise. You can find the menu on urban spoon (only for the notre dame location).

The Parisian bread fingers were toasted perfectly and I liked that the cheese came on the side and not already melted onto the bread. I was a bit worried about my dish as I wasn't sure how well tomato sauce and veggies would be on a flat omelet but I was not disappointed. The flavors of the ingredients blended well and the veggies were chopped very small so there were no large annoying chunks. The breakfast potatoes had a wonderful flavor and were cooked perfectly. I really enjoyed this breakfast. The service was also fast and friendly.

Went here on a recommendation for breakfast. For the price of 2 Ventis I had 2 eggs, homefries (made with fried new potato segments dusted with paprika), bacon (cooked perfectly to my requested 'well' without being burnt), home-style Texas toast, baked beans, fruit and really good coffee (with refill). Atmosphere was quaint and cozy, the restaurant was busy for good reason - everything was served promptly and hot by a pleasant waitress. The only caveat was that the barista kept smashing her espresso pot every minute or so on the metal trash receptacle to empty it - very disconcerting.

This cute coffee shop offers brunch, fabulous coffees and teas. The best part of your stop here is the wide array of desserts. Go ahead an splurge on the carrot cake (probably a billion calories) if your lucky enough to find some available. It is the best you'll ever taste. Wait staff is super friendly and bilingual.

This restaurant is unquestionably one of my favourite places to go to in the neighbourhood for a week-end breakfast / brunch. Unfortunately, it appears that a lot of other people feel the same way, despite the relatively higher prices. Keep in mind, that while Toi Moi & Café takes reservations during week days, this is not the case during busy week-ends. So, to avoid the long lineups or the restaurant running out of your favourite breakfast (usually something with hollandaise sauce), the best time to go, is before 11:00 or even 10:30 AM. Its prime location, right near the popular Atwater Market, has made it an even more desirable place to go.

Once you’ve been seated, you can’t help but notice the warm and very lively European-like atmosphere. However, for those who want to eat in a very quiet, peaceful & spacious environment, this may not be the place for you (unless you go during week days or on off hours).

As for the food, my favourite guilty pleasure there, is the Mont Cassin. It consists of two poached eggs, each one over a layer of eggplant and warm goat cheese, lying on half an English muffin. The combo is then “smothered” in a deliciously rich and tasty hollandaise sauce. The San Marino (flat) omelet with spinach and melted bocconcini cheese “topped with diced tomatoes and fried onions,” is another tasty choice, if you want a healthier option.

I’ve never had their French Toast, but a brunch companion who’s tried it, swore by the one with raspberry sauce and English cream.

Last, but certainly not least, is their excellent coffee in terms of quality and variety. For me, it is without a doubt, one of the best in the city, especially the Café au lait, which I always have in a bowl, (actually a super large coffee cup).

The service is usually friendly and efficient, but don’t expect it to be as attentive during those big rush periods on the week-ends.
