“Extensive gardens, peaceful day”
Reviewed January 2, 2014

This is quite large botanical gardens. There's almost no way one can go through the whole place in a day. However, if you don't have that expectation, then this is a very nice way to spend your morning or afternoon, in peace, and surrounded by beauty.
When I was there, there was an exhibition throughout the grounds, sculptures made out of plants, shrubs, trees. They were all gorgeous, but I believe they have been removed now. A couple that I remember was a very large pot, spilled over with dirt and plants, being pollinated by honey bees made out of flowers. Another was a old pickup truck being loaded by a man, who was made of shrubs, holding crates of flowers.
Also, I believe that if you purchase tickets, then you can come again another day with the same ticket (effectively, its a two time ticket). You might want to double check, but I was able to do it.

We visited on December 22nd. The holiday decorations were stunning. There was a choir performing Christmas carols which was charming. The gift shop was terrific as most botanical garden gift shops are. I can not wait to go back in the spring to see more of the gardens.

“The most beautiful place on earth”
Reviewed December 26, 2013

It was the best botanical garden I had ever been. I went to visit during fall season, the weather was perfect 75 F. Walking in the garden was enjoyable; there were so many species of plants, trees and flowers, they looked amazing. Just love it so much, I'll visit again.

“Greenhouses are fabulous!”
Reviewed December 17, 2013

It was a freezing winter's day when we visited. The greenhouses were an unexpected delight to walk through out of the cold. An amazing range of ecosystems housing a huge range of plants from all points of the earth. Even our children were enthralled by the variety of plants.

The surrounding grounds looked amazing covered in snow - a true winter wonderland.

The special Christmas display was also very well done - some real thought went into it.

Staff were friendly and informative.

Overall, an excellent experience.

“One of the Crown Jewels of Montreal”
Reviewed December 16, 2013

One of our favorite places to visit in Montreal and we stop by almost every time we are in town. Most recently we attended the Chinese Lantern exhibit which was absolutely spectacular. There is pretty much always some special event or exhibit going on and even if the dead of winter the greenhouses are a pleasant visit. You are luck to have this institution.
