The Chinese and Japanese gardens are spectacular! Worth it even if you only see those two. Most unique gardens I have seen, and I have seen quite a few.

In the autumn, the Chinese lanterns festival makes for a packed event. Be smart: show up 30 minutes before sunset so you don't face a 60-minute line. It will be crowded, and it might be cold, but it's definitely worth it. Considering most of your company is clearly local, you know this isn't a tourist trap, but a unique experience. Outside of fall, the spring is the best time to go, with vibrant flowers. (The ex-mayor used to direct this facility, so made sure they always got plenty of money to keep it world-class.)

The admission price is worth it. The Chinese garden filled with lanterns at night is one of the most spectacular things I have visited in Montreal. Well worth the long wait in line. Don't miss the Japanese garden which is also beautifully lit for night time viewing.

The ten indoor greenhouses were good but nothing special. The Chinese Garden light show was so beautiful. We arrived just before dusk which was good for picture taking.
