Really liked the botanical gardens, it was a great escape from the city, within the city itself. You really are transported to another world, one full of beautiful flowers, trees, and a peaceful quiet in an otherwise busy city. The cost is affordable and there is a great little beer garden to have a beer or coctail and take a load off your feet.

I loved Japanese garden and golden fish! I like to come back here once in a while with my camera. There could be a better place to eat and it should be closer to the middle of the garden. Otherwise everything is very good.

We visited in late September and the weather was perfect. It is located very near the Olympic Park which is convenient. They have a large bonsai collection, some of which are 250 years old! One of the most impressive was a bonsai "forest". All the garden are well maintained.
The insectarium was very interesting. Luckily most of them were dead :) Beautiful displays of colorful beetles, butterflies and moths.

The lanterns are truly amazing. We attended the display last year and were so taken we decided to go again this year and take friends that were visiting - we were not dissappointed. It was wonderful. It was so heartwarming to see the look on the children's faces and as you looked further, you could see the same look on adult faces too!!!
