We spent a warm day walking around the city and, by the time we got down near the Old Port, we were on the lookout for ice cream...not gelato, not soft-serve, but hand-scooped ice cream. When we saw Muki's advertisement for ice cream made on-site, we decided to give it a try. My husband chose espresso flavor, and I had vanilla and lemon. It was good, but we couldn't tell whether we were having ice cream or gelato. It lacked the rich, creaminess we were looking for. The taste was good (and the waffle cones were a nice treat), but it wasn't what we were looking for. In addition, it was considerably more than we are accustomed to spending. $10 for three very meager scoops of ice cream (and they were SMALL) is awfully steep.

We tried this recommended cafe for dessert and it was average at best for my fellow travelers, poor in my opinion. One scoop is enough after a big meal, with no waffle cone which can mask the flavor of the gelato. The gelato lacked a rich, creamy taste with basically, shallow favors. We tried the Milk Chocolate and the Vanilla. The Milk Choclate had no depth which I suspect may be due to the lesser quality of chocolate and the vanilla was tasteless. Both may have melted right away in our mouths however, it left much to be desired.

Wonderful gelato made on-site. We went there twice during a three day stay in Old Montreal. The owner is very friendly and enjoys conversing with his customers in either French or English. Only a few blocks any from anywhere in Old Montreal, and worth the short walk.

What a great little place for a snack in Old Montreal. We loved the freshly cooked waffles with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream as well as the waffle "fries". Delish!

I went to Muki to have an icecream it is not exceptional + because apparently the pistache ice cream is demanded the owner raised the price of it instead of 2 dollars it costs 9 dollars the scoop rip off
