A small, comfortable, friendly restaurant with excellent Mexican-inspired food. Not particularly spicy, but good flavor and variety. The margaritas were awesome!

I have been to this restaurant many times and never disappointed. I usually go at lunch time when it is very busy. Try to get there early to be sure to get a seat. They will take reservations.

Every dish I have tried is fantastic. The tortilla soup is a must every time.

Went yesterday for Sunday brunch with friends and everyone enjoyed the brunch menu.

Upstairs they also sell various baked goods as well as other Mexican products. Try the "corn muffin" ... excellent heated.

Having travelled in Mexico extensively, I do crave reliving the experience of eating good Mexican food . Unfortunately, I am often disappointed by what I find particularly in Canada, my home base. I have finally found one restaurant in Montreal that really delivers, not only the complex flavours, but also the rich culinary diversity that is Mexican cuisine.

They are open (FYI: 7 days a week) for lunch, brunch (Sat. & Sun.) and dinner; I tried brunch and went back for dinner.

Every item offered for brunch was "the real thing" with a choice of Chilaquiles (red or green salsa), Sopes, Molletes, Huevos a la Mexicana...to name a few. This came with a small tropical fruit salad, orange juice & endless coffee for $12.50 served in Mexican pottery.

The luncheon menu had an extensive choice again of Mexican specialties; I saw something for every budget.

The dinner menu was more limited with most items priced below $20. with the exception of the sampler ($27) that provided you with 3 smaller portions of your choice from the menu. The Conchinita Pibil was as good or better than what I have eaten in the Yucatan. The Pollo en salsa Pipian Verde, was a knock-out! Some of the other items were a Mole Poblano as well as 2 shrimp dishes, one mild and the other fiery, hot. Given that I visited in the week leading up to Mexican Independance Day, Chiles en Nogada (a seasonal specialty) were also available.

The restaurant provides a casual dinning setting. There is also a small area where select Mexican products can be purchased such as "Obleas" - a Dulce de Leche sweet treat.

N.B.:Be aware that if you have mobility issues, there are stairs leading down to the dinning area and up the washrooms.

However, "Chipotle et Jalapeno" is very centrally located to the main Metro (subway) hub at Berri/UQAM which makes getting to it from anywhere in the cityl, even easier.

Buen provecho!
