This is good comfort food in the heart of old Montreal. Quick service, nice portions, and simple menu. Side dishes (mushy peas, beans) were good, but not special. Only one booster seat for children was a bit of a downer since it was already being used.

Never thought you can getting authentic British fish and chips in Montreal! This gem was suggested by a colleague, you can get different batter (include maple syrup). My haddock had a nice crisp batter, thick but not too thick, and the chips were very good. Wrapped in newspaper waxpaper wiht generous portion of fish too. Well worth it. A decent tasty meal & a beer for less than $20.

We were hungry from a long trip up from Boston and were lucky to run into this place. Nice fish and chips spot, with outdoor seating. Quick service with wine and beer choices!

I had the Cod and my wife had the sour creme and onion batter fish (not sure what fish). Both were delicious!

Definitely looking forward to grabbing some lunch from here again. Too bad I didn't take any pictures! Enjoy!

Getting fish and chips in Montreal? Are you crazy? I was here from New Hampshire for work and my Canadian colleagues suggest this for a quick take out lunch. The place is long, narrow and packed. Work your way to the back, then choose your type of fish and place your order. Work your way down past the stations where they batter and fry. It took a few minutes to get our orders as the place was jammed and we were part of a steady stream of folks.
My haddock had a nice crisp batter, thick but not too thick, and the chips were very good. Chips could have used an extra minute in the fryer, but that's probably just my personal preference. Wrapped in newspaper, take out malt vinegar and a huge portion of fries. Good amount of fish too. Well worth it.

Came across Brit & Chips in Montreal whilst looking for a quick take away meal. The restaurant side was packed out at 7 in the evening which was a good indicator of how popular this place was. In very quick time we were handed two boxes of cod and chips. On opening the boxes we had two large portions of fish with a mountain of chips and half a lemon. The fish was amazing. Delicious cod that just melted in your mouth.

The staff was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Definitely 5 stars!
