“Do see this city by bike. Do rent from Ca Roule.”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

Save the metro travelling for the evenings. It's too hot down there during the day anyway! The best way to soak up this really beautiful city is on a bike.
I rented the new Argon 18 road bike with 105 components for two days. It comes with a lock, helmet, saddle bag, puncture tools, two bidon holders, a bike fit, choice of pedals and a basic computer. They also provide a number for emergencies so if there's a mechanical or crash they will come out to you. Brilliant service.
The bike was set up for some of the slightly gravel and sand tracks and comfortably climbed and descended the Mont Royal, despite my wincing as I first hit the gravel.
The bike is king on Montreal roads in my brief experience and even if you take one of the lower end bikes it is a must do. The routes are quite easy to follow.

Couple of tips; get a map from Ca Roule or a Bixi bike stop and you can also check out where you are on the bike maps beside every Bixi stop. During the summer the Montreal Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit is open for bikes to use when it is not being used for motor racing. This is immense fun so definitely add it to your route plan.

“Great bikes, great service”
Reviewed August 20, 2013 via mobile

These were the best rental bikes we've had - having rented bikes in many US & European cities. They also come with puncture repair kit & pump, which is a good idea. Montreal has lots of bike trails and the guys at Montreal on Wheels are very friendly and provided us with maps and loads of advice

“A must do while in Montreal”
Reviewed August 17, 2013 via mobile

This bike store is right in Old Montreal. We rented two hybrids and rode the greenway path along the Lachine Canal and back along the St Lawrence Seaway and back over the Concorde bridge. very scenic and safe the entire way. Montrealers are very bike-friendly. Atwater market is a must stop! Our favorite day in Montreal.

“A must do!!!!!!!”

The bike tour of the city was the best thing I did in Montreal. The tour guide Pam was so wonderful. She had to translate everything into English
And French. She took us everywhere and I learned a lot. After the tour you can keep the bike until 8pm and because of Pam I felt comfortable riding the bike around the city. This was the best money spent in Montreal. A must do for everyone traveling to the city.
