Dont judge the book by its cover! Impressive place to stay at,,,, ironic how we came to the hotel to use there parking facility and ended up staying a couple of days. CAA rate was $99 for the Sunday, and $77 for the Monday. Initially it was $99 / day. Sunday evening, i was looking for a review of this place and came across a lower rate. Front desk honoured the lower rate.

Great location to stay at, close to public transportation, restaurants, hospital (if required), walk in clinic, and pharmacy.

Right across the street,,,,, 2 great things to mention #1 SAFETY,,,,, Police Station,,,, who in their right mind is going to cause problems when response time is practically zero minutes. And if your not satisfied by their response time, just run across the street,,,, lol

# 2. Had a long day? Book an appointment for some personal maintenance at "Les Element", once again right across the street.
Manicures, pedicures, personal hygiene. Our interaction with Chung, Mou, and Denise was absolutely great! Well Worth the extra pampering one deserves after a day of shopping and adds a little extra bonus while on vacation.

Great family trip for a family of five, economical and super location. We will definitely come back for a visit.

Room Tip: Spa,,,, right across the street Les Element,,,, ask for Chung biggest smile you ever see in your lif...

The espresso had all the ingredients but no finesse... Laminate floors contribute to very noisy rooms with corridor noise noticeable during the night. Gym had couple of machines, some more not plugged in outside near sauna so maybe changing out kit, but gym in need of a jolly good scrub to clean off dust and remove musty smell. Very close to center of town and good WiFi so if you're not planning on spending lots of time in hotel then come here if the price is right.

The Hotel was in a great location and a bit overpriced . The lobby was nice as you entered but the hallways and elevators gave you a look of a cheap motel. The rooms were newly renovated but the downside was the hard wood flooring. This is an good hotel for a quick stay but not more than one day.

we don"t normally stay in downtown areas because we get better bang for our buck in the burbs. that said, this hotel is very good from the inside of our room. hardwood floors, refridge, coffee maker, nice queen beds and ample pillows, CLEAN. The lobby and hallways were less inviting, but the price was good. Location is good. We forgot you have to pay to park in downtown areas, even at hotels. once we were settled in, this hotel is good.

I decided to wait and let myself calm down before ranting all over the internet about my stay. I don't think my keyboard could have taken the angry pounding...

My review is from 6/30/13 - 7/03/13. Here are the main factors that grant this hotel a one star review.

1. BUGS, BUGS, BUGS: There were FLEAS in our bed! This was in a corner room on the 5th floor. This lead to very itchy nights, an allergic reaction and a room switch at 3am the last night. We took pictures of the casings left by the bugs and the gigantic reactions I had to said fleas.

2. MOLD: Although we were upgraded to a junior suite that very last night, this was the THIRD room change we went through. Despite the slight musty smell, and the smell of mold in the bathroom, all I wanted to do was hop into that jacuzzi tub, curl into a ball, and let the jets wash away the remaining bugs that were still crawling on my body. I turn on the jets (after waiting for the tub to fill) and am sprayed In The Face with MOLDY water. It smelled disgusting, and I quickly changed my mind, settling for a shower instead.

3. THE MANAGER: The next day, the manager on duty implied that he did not believe that there were bugs in the room and rather my reaction could have been to a number of things. He stated we could either be comped one night now, or maybe get the reservation completely comped after the investigation of whether or not there were fleas and/or bugs. He also reported that we would be informed of what they found and what our options were. Still waiting on that call.

I am saddened to say that the overall experience at Hotel Espresso dampened our trip. The allergic reaction made it difficult to have the energy to really explore this beautiful city. Listen to the reviews and find a hotel that is more conveniently located and worth the price.

Room Tip: Choose a different place, or ensure that your room has been upgraded, with no bugs.

Arrived off the 747 airport bus which stops a few metres from the hotel & was checked in quickly..the room was lovely & big with comfy beds on the 7th floor. Down side of room was noise from the street below & the AC. Breakfast was nice, good selection of fruit, hot foods..needed yogurts and better choice in cereal like bran or muesli. As for cleanliness, the days we ate there there was a piece of pineapple on the floor which was never picked up/ swept up so I think the cleanliness could improve. Overall this hotel was nice with a good location near the lower end of st. Catherine st which is the main shopping st. I would consider staying here if visiting Montreal again. Note to other travellers..Canada is very expensive, buy your chocolate bars if you have a sweet tooth like me in Dollorama which is beside starbucks when u reach st.catherines!!..hope this review was of some assistance;-)

I used Hotel Espresso for a training I organized for my company. We rent a meeting room for a day with breakfast and lunch.
Check in and service were very good. "The Boss", Lucio Zarlenga, is always smiling and happy to find solution to every small problem you can have.
Lunch is a simple buffet with salad bar and 4 choices of hot meals. It's not a Gourmet restaurant but it was perfect for our meeting.
Value/price ratio is really good!
