“What a great place”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

Nice place to take a break, have a little snack, have a drink, relax, listen to musicians, look at the word of artists, shop for souvenirs. A must see if you come to Montreal.

“A good people-watching place!”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

Be sure to stroll around the WHOLE of Old Montreal, of which this is just a corner. The (Roman Catholic) Cathedral is a fantastic place to visit, and maybe take in a concert or a religious service. Apparently, it was designed by an Irish protestant, who made a deathbed conversion to catholicism!

“Always nice”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

Although we live here, it's always nice to stroll through the streets in Old Montreal and watch the street entertainers and people wandering about.

“Sunday Afternoon”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

Wide open, gently sloping from the fountain at the top down toward the port - lots of outdoor cafes, people strolling, street performers and cobblestone streets leading you off in different directions to explore the architecture of Old Montreal. We had lunch at Le Fripon and it was good - fish & chips. Really enjoyed sitting outside and watching the Sunday afternoon crowd.

“Back in Time in Old Montreal”
Reviewed August 24, 2012

We got off a the Champ de Mars metro stop after a superb visit to Mont Royal, it was around 7.00 p.m. and as you walk down the gentle slope from the Nelson Monument, you get to see a superb view of the Old Port. Place Jacques-Cartier was used as a public market for many years. Now there are street artists entertaining tourists and locals. Lots of Victorian street lamps. A lovely place to be in the evening.
