We were overwhelmed by the beauty and size of the Basilica. Our tour guide told us the history and story of the Basilica, don't miss visiting it.

The French explorers settled in Montreal more than 300 years ago before the Brits took over the city. Montreal is regarded as an unique bilingual city where you can experience the international savvy. I love the Notre-Dame Basilica in downtown Montreal. It costs CAD6 per adult to enter the Basilica. I was amazed by the beautiful architecture inside the Basilica. The golden statue, the historical decorations, the carefully protected furniture. A free English-speaking tour is available every hour, so you can have a better understanding about the history of Montreal, the French ancestors as well as the Basilica itself. What's more? You can also take a horse ride tour outside the Basilica to experience the historical Old Montreal.

I travel a lot and have seen many churches, this one was one of the most beautiful. It's architecture, stained class windows and black mahogany wood confessionals and pews were superb. It was $6.00 in Canadian money to get in and well worth the price. Make sure you take the tour that is included for some very interesting information about this Basilica.

This is really beautiful inside and we were lucky to catch the choir singing too, well worth a visit.

I did not do the formal tour. I just walked around and enjoyed the magnificence. Absolutely breath taking!
