We took our kids to the centre on a cold January day - been to similar places in other cities, this ones pretty good. Definatey worth spending a morning, the IMAX cinema is fantastic and we really enjoyed the Arctic film.

We have been to several science museums and while the Montreal one might be a little light on the science explanations, it's very well laid out, strong on interactivity, and works for young kids to adults. We had a 12-yr-old and 15-yr-old and they had a great time (especially given that it was sou cold out and we needed a break from walking around.) You can easily spend 3-4 hours here if you do a lot if the hands on activities and maybe catch an IMAX movie. One regret we had was not buying the Montreal all-museum pass. With the really cold weather that week, we ended up visiting more museums than we had planned and the cost does add up.

glad we took the time to visit this really good science center. take a full day to see all the sights. there are lots of exhibits. the bodies exhibit was really neat. it is located in the older part of the city so once your done there are other things and sights to take in. i would recommend this to anyone travelling to montreal or even if your a local.

We came for the star wars exhibition which was overpriced but also a "don't miss" type of thing, and we stayed for the various other exhibitions, it's a great museum and I only wish we had more time to stay a full day, it wouldn't have gotten old (at least for my child) but we had a limited time to see it, also nice because near the water/port and the old part of the city

Vacationing in Montreal with two young kids, we almost skipped the museum based on humdrum reviews here. That would have been a mistake. The interactive exhibits, the kids play room, and the live demonstrations were fantastic. We saw the inside of a firework and observed the colorful flames of various metals - magnesium (bright white), sodium (yellow), potassium (purple), strontium (red), & copper (green). We have high standards in science museums, given our membership at the Museum of Science in Boston. Nevertheless, the Montreal Science Centre was well worth a two-hour visit. Their reciprocal agreement with the MOS unexpectedly covered 100% of our entrance fee. Parking was $10-$15. Highly recommended for kids of all ages.
