We are indeed privileged in having a prime location in the heart of the entertainment and festival district, as well as within walking distance of all the major tourists sites. I will certainly share your kind words with the reception and housekeeping staff about their friendliness and the cleanliness of the property. Thanks and till next time.

I stayed only one night for a conference, but the rooms are beautiful and clean (newly renovated!), the concierge was extremely accommodating in getting me a room close to my colleagues, and the location was very convenient to downtown sights.

I stayed 2 nights. The staff was very helpful and recommended a nice walking tour of montreal. It was 2 min walk from china town and around 15 min walk from the old city. Beautiful room too (exposed brick wall, hardwood floor, minimalist decor). You can pay less to share a bathroom but we chose to have a private bathroom and breakfast (down the street) included. The restaurant they contract with is also nice (very casual).

Room Tip: I did not see the rooms that have shared bathroom so I cannot vouch for them.

We were travelling on a tight budget and chose this hotel for this reason. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke English very well. Considering it's central location, we were able to book a budget room with a shared bathroom for a reasonable price. The room was clean, comfortable and basic with a wash basin in the room. There was only one other room to share our bathroom and this was not a problem. There are many bathrooms, so if ours had been occupied then we could've easily used another. The window shutter didn't block the light very well and the room was very noisy and although the bed was comfortable, we didn't sleep very well due to the noise. The location was central with a short walk to the old Montreal and the underground city is accessible through the nearby shopping centre. Breakfast is included in the price but not on site. The café not far away had 4 breakfast options to choose from and was adequate for us. The building only had stairs, so if you are unable to carry luggage up several flights then this is not a good option. This hotel is a great budget hotel in a central location.

I am pleased that you took advantage of our prime location in the heart of the entertainment district to discover Montreal. Our hotel has a variety of room types from the budget room with shared washroom to the superior suites with all the amenities. I am glad that you appreciated the value of your budget room but I am disappointed that there was street noise that affected your rest.....this is dependent on the events of the downtown core. Thanks for your review, your warm comments regarding staff and your recommendation of our establishment. Till next time.

my wife and I booked online for 3 nights we were a little apprehensive about the area, but it was fine, I had booked a room with a shared bathroom by mistake, and they gladly moved us the next day into a very nice room (suite) with our own bathroom. Staff were very friendly. parking was available around the corner $20.00 per day with in/out privilege. easy walking to old Montreal,Latin quarter and Chinatown. We would return in the same room,

If you book a budget room with shared bathroom you will likely be put on the 4th floor as we were. (There is no elevator, which might probe problematic for some.) Ceiling was very low and room uncomfortably warm due to heating pipes running through it. I wouldn't have minded this for $56, but for the fact that the photos on the website showed this option to be a much more luxurious-looking room. Still, a central choice and not too loud, despite being in the entertainment district (the one advantage of being on the 4th floor!).

Me and my partner stayed in this hotel for only one night while visiting the Montreal En Lumière festival back in February. The location was truly excellent - right in the centre and very close to a huge array of restaurants, bars, and the festival itself. When we arrived we took the short walk up the entrance stairs (which might causes problems for the elderly or travellers with heavy bags). We were then greeted by the friendly staff who possessed both fluent English and French and probably a range of other languages. Once again there were more stairs up to our room on the 3rd floor. For us fit and healthy travellers it wasn't a problem, although while slightly intoxicated, the stairs proved considerably more challenging...

The room itself was cosy and comfy with a lovely bathroom and a little view of nothing in particular. Many of the pipes were exposed on the ceiling but these were painted the same as the walls and somehow worked with the feel of the room - comfy, cosy, with a dash of industry.

For me the bed was very comfortable although my partner disagreed so beware that the beds may not suit everybody!

Overall the stay was pleasant and enjoyable. I would recommend not to bother paying for the queen sized rooms unless you really want them. It was not worth the extra expense in my opinion.

Lastly, to those complaining about the many sex shops, including one downstairs, do not be put off! The area was safe and the noise is minimal, even during the busy festival.

Bon courage!

Room Tip: Our room on the 3rd floor was very quiet

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel on Tripadvisor. We are pleased that you had a great stay in our establishment. Since we are in a centennial building, there are many stairs to contend with but we are happy that you appreciated the decor keeping with the building's historical character. Our area is indeed safe and though there are shops of a sexual nature in the area, it is indeed a dynamic area with all of its theatres, museums and festivals. We look forward to your next visit.
