We stayed here for 2 nights in two different rooms.
All of our interactions with the staff were very pleasant, and they were really good in offering activities and directions etc. The hostel is in a pretty good location, a short walk to a metro station, and a short walk to the down town area. And it is airconditioned throughout! YAY!
The place is pretty big, I am unsure of how many beds they have,
There is a large kitchen with around 8, 2 burner cookers, heaps of plates, pots pans etc and a large island bench for prep. Could probably use a couple of chopping boards as I noticed there was not much of this. The kitchen has a large wall of boxed cupboard spaces to keep food and a couple of fridges too. When we cooked, we cooked early which appeared a good option as when we were finished the kitchen was packed!
There is a large dining area with heaps of tables, a bar, pool table and large t.v's. They serve food from the bar (nothing special, but pretty cheap) as well as doing a few breakfast options.
We used the laundry facility, 2 washing machines, 2 driers (1 was out of order) We had a hard time getting our stuff in the dryer as it was busy. There is a room full of computers and the place has free wi-fi throughout (it was a little slow to be honest)
The first room was a 4 bed dorm (we booked as a private) 2 sets of bunks, sheets and blankets are provided and it is a no sleeping bag environment, with vinyl coverings on the mattresses (I guess this ensures a bed bug free hostel) There was an ensuite with a shower, toilet and sink. No towels or floor mats were provided. This room was really clean, as was the bathroom. It was a quiet room, other than the squeeky bunk beds!
The second room was a private room with a double bed and ensuite bathroom. Quite small, but functional with a small desk. It also had a small LCD t'v mounted on the wall which was a nice bonus. The bathroom had a sink, toilet and shower and included towels. The bed was comfortable and also had the lovely vinyl coverings on the mattress. The room was really clean as was the bathroom and had the bonus of the bed being made when we got to the room. It was also very quiet.
This place is a decent size and would be good for travelling and meeting people. The group activities seem fun and the location is good. I liked how clean the place was and it had a nice feeling. It is a very expensive hostel though.
