This like so many other places is bland, no thought for nature or beauty. Where can people go now to relax after a stressful week ? Montreal should do what has been done in Washington: bicycle paths near the water, pedestrian paths surrounded by trees and flowers with lots of benches to stop here and there and enjoy. Unfortunately this is a dream.

When in Montreal you must stop by the century year old quarter on the peaceful waters of the Saint- Lauwrence. Beautiful and relaxing a must-visit in terrific Montreal.

I would have expected a bit more from an old port city, but they have at least made it look attractive, but not overly so. Still it is great to see Montrealers of all nationalities getting together for their Sunday walkabouts. Will go again, just down from the old city.

Ice skating, ships in port and snow everywhere!
The cold and the snow made it hard, but we still got to enjoy this great area and explore all around the harbourfront

The Old Port Quays are scenic, historic and perfect for a leisurely stroll. Bring a camera. There are historic markers to guide you and tell the story of old Montreal's marine history. Stop into some of the buildings along the waterway to see local art, a science center, Omni Theater, and more. There is outside ice skating in the winter, complete with warming cafe and skate rentals. In the warm weather there are moored boats to admire. Beautiful views looking back on the city.
