A lovely stay overall. Very easy access by car, friendly, helpful staff - door, parking, desk, valet and room staff - pleasant attractive bar and bistro, nice spacious room with an opening window. Good large bathroom. Perfect location for visiting museums, shopping.

Booked the Omni hotel because we got a great deal at a nice hotel. The hotel was clean, updated, and well-decorated. There's a nice lobby bar where you can grab a bite to eat or a drink. The staff was very courteous and helpful whenever we asked for recommendations. It was nice to be able to walk right up the hill (more of a mountain really...) to the Mont Royal park. Only downside was that its a pretty long walk if you plan on visiting the Old Montreal area. After walking all day, we ended up taking a cab if we did want to go out for dinner in Old Montreal since it would take about 35 minutes to walk down there. This was our own fault for not knowing the area a little better!

I loved my stay at this hotel. This Omni was previously a Westin and something else before, and has undergone recent renovations. it might be interesting to note that this is the hotel featured in the movie The Red Violin, although that was a few years ago. I found the hotel scrupulously clean and very well-maintained. The staff was attentive to my every need and I got everything I asked for. primarily, I was looking for a quiet room so I could get some work done. This hotel completely delivered on this request. The bed was super comfortable and the WiFi completely adequate. Some reviewers have noted inadequate WiFi service and since I wanted to work, I was concerned. But really, I had absolutely no problems at all using Skype, downloading documents, or video streaming. The bathroom was large and very clean, with lots of towels and amenities. The staff checks at bedtime in case you need anything else. I never had to call for anything but room service.

Previous reviewers noted that the room decor is reminiscent of the 1970's - and perhaps it is...but not in a bad way at all. I enjoyed the clean lines and the suggestion of the late Mad Men era. Hotel rooms often all look the same. This one offered some predictability with a unique cachet. One detail I loved - all the lamps in the room are equipped with dimmers so one can get just the right amount of light without having to resort to choosing which over-bright lamp to leave on.

There is a small fridge in the room but note it is really a wine cooler so it does not get super cold. I found it handy to keep things cool and liked having the option of using the cooler rather than getting stuck with a mini bar that I often don't use. This hotel offers a call-up mini-bar service which eliminates the annoying mini-bar visit in the morning. Although I did not use it, the selection seemed better than the typical mini-bar.

The hotel provides flawless 24 hour room service, very attentive, with nicely laid trays/tables. Service is included so you don't have to go fishing through your wallet for tips. The menu is identical to that of the restaurant in the lobby. I ordered dinner and breakfast in-room and found both very well presented. Dinner was fabulous - tasty, hot, fresh, delicious. However, breakfast seemed to have been taken from a buffet. The eggs were good but the pancakes were dry on the edges and soggy in the middle - and they were cold. I have found this to be typical of hotel breakfasts so the Omni did no worse than other places. They offer excellent coffee and real maple syrup, which made up for the unsatisfactory pancakes.

The hotel is located in an area with some spectacular views - either of Mount Royal or downtown. Rooms have huge windows, including one that opens for fresh air. No craning one's neck to get some kind of view. The windows are equipped with heavy drapes and sheers. There is a good bar in the lobby, along with a nice little boutique. The restaurant was not busy when I walked by at 5;30 but that's really early for dinner in Montreal. The place looked inviting with a Parisian styling. I opted for room service since one can eat the same thing in-room. The hotel is located very close to many good restaurants - Asian, sushi, steak, Italian... thus the hotel's menu, while limited, seems to offer a wise selection in light of immediately available alternatives.

The distinctive feature of this hotel is it's staff. From the clerk who found me a fabulous room that was ready when I arrived early to the waiters who delivered room service, and to the lovely lady who offered extra tea bags (I wanted nothing else) at turn-down time, to the maintenance men who noticed one of my lamps was unplugged when they checked on a heating issue reported by a different guest...all seemed eager to please and help make me comfortable.

Room Tip: It's a good idea to call ahead and ask the staff to recommend a room location. I believe this ho...

Lovely hotel, clean, quiet with helpful and welcoming staff.

However, the internet connection was next to unusable for my weeklong stay there. This is a deal breaker for me and would probably prevent me from staying there again or recommending.

Despite spending well over an hour with technical support (at another location) on three separate calls, the problem wasn't fixed. Local hotel staff clearly wanted to help, but were powerless to do so.

This made my work very difficult during much of my stay.

I was disappointed to hear that the hotel were already aware of the underlying problem and that it was a problem for many guests.

I would have appreciated knowing about this problem before I made the booking.

The hotel assured me that they are investing in a permanent solution, which will no doubt mean this is not a problem for future guests.

Couldn't ask for more of a hotel than the Omni Mont Royal provides, all without asking. Once you set up your Select Guest Loyalty Preferences, they do the rest. Excellent Location, Amenities, Front Desk, Bell and Valet Staff, Concierge, Management, Rooms, etc.

I stayed here with a friend the first weekend of the year (which was also one of the coldest so far). This hotel is ideally located on Sherbrooke Street and is a very short walk from the St. Catherine shopping area. The hotel staff were all very welcoming and pleasant to deal with. The room was huge. There was a huge space between the bed and the far wall with the tv and desk; it would have been perfect for business travellers wanting to get in a little yoga or stretching. The bathroom was a good size and included all of the amenities and there was good water pressure. The beds were also quite comfy and the seating area was a nice place to relax after a long day of shopping :)

As a Select Guest member we were treated to complimentary coffee each morning which was a very nice touch (as a member you also get free wifi). I encourage everyone to join their club - the beverages, wifi and newspaper (weekdays only) are reason enough and there is no membership fee.

I would definitely stay here again. The rates are reasonable, the staff is lovely and it's in a great spot close to the train station (10ish min walk).

Room Tip: Join the membership fee-free Select Guest program for complimentary morning beverages, wifi and week...
