Area near McGill University and many shops and restaurants. Great area to visit and see the historic buildings. The old stumping grounds of Montreal’s well to do.

This area is just awesome, especially in Summer.
If you are visiting, make sure to take a walk and get a coffee, maybe a lunch in one of the beautiful terraces over there. It's a dynamic energetic intersection; that has malls, cafes, banks and obviously some great scenery.

Tip: To have the change of getting some lovely pictures, or just enjoy a pretty wonderful view...make sure to head to Place Ville Marie over there, then from there, you can find the outdoor terrace that overlook to this square.

Here's a picture that I took 2 or 3 years ago :

I had an informal tour with a local friend and wowww this is a seriously beautiful area! There is so much interesting history to learn anout and many of the buildings look like right out of a period piece! Lovers of history and architecture will appreciate a tour of this area, I'm sure!

This is where the rich people used to live. Now it's home to hotels, office buildings, shopping and high-end old fashioned dining. Elegant, noble.

Most of the Grand Mansions along Sherbrooke Street have been demolished..a few remain across from the Ritz Carlton or Holt Renfrew..this area is Montreal's Fifth Avenue with the Museum of Fine Arts close, some great Art Galleries , some old Houses , lots donated or aquired by the Nearby McGill University for its various departments. It extends from Sherbrooke to Pine Avenue North or from Guy to University East...Many High Rise Condos have taken the place of the Mansions (Sir Robert Peel, Le Cartier) ..the metro closest are McGill or Peel...The Golden Rule: the one with the Gold makes the Rule...lol
