“Average hotel in a Great location”
Reviewed April 16, 2013

The location of the hotel was great. The hotel is close to a lot restaurant and a man. The staffs were friendly and the helpful. We had a quiet room and it was clean. Our deal included breakfast and internet. Unfortunately, we didn’t use the internet as much because we spent most of our time outside. Thank god for the Starbucks across the street -there were tea and coffee in our room but nothing bears Starbucks coffee. We had no problem with the room or our stay. Overall it’s an average hotel.

This is our regular go to when we have to go to Montreal for work. It’s always nice to stay there, I’ve never had any issues with the rooms or the service. Great location, close to old Montreal and the water isn’t far either. The food in the restaurant isn’t great but there are so many wonderful restaurants a block or two away this doesn’t really matter. Great facilities in the gym. Wireless is a little slow for my liking but you can scrape by as long as you’re not watching movies online.

If you can get a discount, it's great.
The quality of MIMI in housekeeping was especially high.
I wish they told me when I got there that it was connected to the indoor shopping because we slogged through bad snow.

My husband and I had a weekend get away to Montreal for his birthday. I was pleasantly surprised by the Hyatt and our room, which overlooked the Place des Arts. The room was clean and comfortable. I admit the bathroom veneer doors could be replace, and the wallpaper under under the sink would have a better chance of surviving if the shower heads were centered in the tub..but overall we enjoyed our stay, and the multi level pool deck with a view of the city. Skip Starbucks for coffee and head east a bit to Cafe Depot for delicious pastrys and coffee for a reasonable price.

Room Tip: Ask for a room looking onto the Place-des-Arts, its fun to people watch as your relaxing with a drin...

I had meetings in the Place Desjardins Complex. The Hyatt is connected to the complex so no need to go outside if the weather is inclement. It was a quick one-night stay but the front desk staff were polite and efficient.

The Marriott is a great jumping off spot for a vacation in Montreal. It is close to the Old Port, yet a subway ride to any other Montreal destination. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I found hotel staff were quite available to answer questions. The location within the larger Complexe Desjardins is somewhat confusing, and signage could be better. I noticed there was a desk for a concierge to help orient people, yet there wasn't ever anyone there from my recollection. I was a resident of Montreal, so getting around wasn't an issue...but I could see where that would be a challenge for a new out of towner. The self serve wine bar is an awesome touch. I thought it was great. I had no luck getting into the gym. Although it would appear to be a large gym, the number of patrons means you need a lot of luck getting a machine or some weights. I twice had to leave and decided on a run rather than a gym visit due to it being so crowded.
I enjoyed this hotel - the service was terrific, but I think one can do better in Montreal.

Room Tip: Avoid a room near the elevator...the could be a bit noisy
