“Elevator system very annoying...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 19, 2012

In general, this hotel was a good experience. I was there for a 4 day business conference and all of my meetings were in the hotel conference rooms.

Room quality:
I stayed on the 3rd floor overlooking St.Catherine Street. Lovely view. The room was comfortable, quiet, and clean.
- Additional outlets on the nightstand would be useful so that I can charge my phone and iPad on my nightstand. I, like many others, use these in the evening before going to bed for reading and as an alarm clock. Therefore, it's not convenient to have to charge them overnight across the room.
- The bathroom has VERY little counter space. I'm a woman. What can I say?

Conference rooms:
The ELEVATOR system is EXTREMELY ANNOYING. In order to go from my room to the conference room, I needed to take two separate elevators. If I wanted to go outside, there is yet a THIRD bank of elevators that needs to be accessed. This can't be very convenient if you are traveling with children.

Gym:
Good. General equipment, lot of space, nice pool and patio.

Amenities:
The mall underneath is convenient...somewhat. When you are in meetings all day, you don't have time to explore the mall. I was eager to pick up a quick dinner in the food court after a full day of meetings, only to find out the food court closes at 6...which is when my meetings ended. oh well.

Overall, it was an average stay. Good location.

Thank you for your comments.Although the food court below closes earlier on Mondays-Wednesdays, our beautiful SIX resto-lounge on the lobby level of the hotel is open daily from noon until 11:30PM serving a wide choice of food and beverages. Our Guests usually enjoy the different set of elevators leading downstairs to the indoor mall, For security reasons, these elevators do not access the hotel room floors. We hope to have the pleasure of hosting your next stay in Montreal.

We stayed here in August, wanting something downtown that was 4 star. We bid on priceline and did end up getting a decent price for it (130, i think)..plus parking.
As soon as we got into the room, we were very underwhelmed. It felt like a 2 star..and there are no real amenities in the hotel. The staff were okay...but they seemed understaffed as each time we went to the front desk (check in, check out, and once for information)..there was a decent lineup. Even the automated check in/out didn't work..or at least, when someone went, they needed someone from the desk to help them (i guess the kiosk isn't self-sufficient? i don't know...)
The hotel is located at a REALLY nice place...great location. The problem is everything else..the rooms are outdated and drab, not much service...nothing much in the hotel. It is connected to complexe desjardins, which means that you can walk underground for long periods of time (convention centre, malls, etc are all connected underground). But when we heard the regular price for the room at $240+...I nearly had a heart attack. I found that we probably overpaid a little (plus tax and parking..) so...definitely not worth it beyond getting a great deal on priceline...

We appreciate your feedback and apologize if the self-serve check-in kiosk was experiencing technical difficulties during your stay. We recently completed a multi-million dollar renovation to our property, and regret that you were less than satisfied. Our relationship with our guests is extremely important to us, and We continuously strive to provide our Guests with excellent quality and service.

We recently stayed here with two kids. The location is excellent, and parking is easy. We loved that there was a food court below, a supermarket behind us and many, many options for walking. We cruised St. Urbain, St. Denis and St. Laurent. We were only there the one night, but if we had more time we would have gone down to the Old Port as it was not far at all. The lobby decor was funky and the pool area was lovely, particularly loved that the doors could be opened for an indoor/outdoor experience and we had some quiet time on one of the loungers early in the morning. We did not use the fitness room but we did use the sauna and steam room and the whole thing was great. We found the staff to be efficient and helpful. However, the rooms are a bit dated, as others have said, and are just average hotel rooms with average beds. After seeing the lobby and the pool, I had expected more, but really, the room was just a regular hotel room.

Very long wait for check in
This time technical problem to reach the operator by phone. It means you have to go down to reception
Only one guest at the restaurant. Understandable, when you ask to have your pasta without dressing. Impossible it means that nothing is fresh
I warmly recommend to stay somewhere else. For what Hyatt Montreal offers you find cheaper

This a worn out, dated Hyatt. Decor needs refreshing. The staff are ok. One or two seem to realise they work in the service industry but for the rest this has passed them by.

Arrived at 11pm. No food or room service available. The kitchen was locked up.

The breakfast is poor and extremely expensive ($50 for 2). Go to Starbucks across the road.

Booked the Hyatt Regency through Priceline and was pleased. We booked the hotel for an extended Easter weekend getaway and the location was perfect. Close enough to the Plateau, downtown and Old Montreal. The room was older but clean and satisfactory. The connection to the underground mall was a nice convenience. Would surely stay here again.

Montreal, beautiful city full of culture. and just 7 hours from Long Island NY. We had an excellent stay and thoroughly enjoyed the hotels restaurant, and bar. I even had the opportunity to use the wine tasting self serve station. Fitness Center is a bit on the smaller side, but doesn't matter since there is so much to do with the pool, sauna, and steam rooms all readily accessible. We had such a great time, i think we will come again, but this time in the summer.
