This is a nice hotel in a very convenient location. It's comfortable, clean, and the staff is friendly enough.
-The views are fantastic. On the even-numbered side of the hotel, you get marvelous views of downtown and Mont-Royal.
-The prices are fair.
-The rooms, lobby, and hallways are kept neat and clean.
-The location is great for leisure travel and sightseeing...it's on corner of St-Hubert and Ste-Catherine, which is great for both gay (East) and straight (West) nightlife. Several restaurants are within a 5-minute walk. It's also walking distance to Old Montreal, and on top of the Berri-UQAM Metro stop which gives you access to three different Metro lines.
-The fixtures could use an update. Nothing major, but the wood components are old and some are chipped, the armoires need to be refinished, and the drapes are tired. However, for only $129/night, these could be easily overlooked.
-Shower made an odd sqeualing noise. Water pressure and water temperature were fine.
-May not be the best place for business travel. It's about a mile removed from downtown, so if I were to travel to MTL on business, I would stay closer to the downtown area.
-No free weights in the gym.
-The parking garage is tiny, cramped and steep. I'm 5'9 and I had to duck while walking from the car to the elevator.
Overall I was very pleased with my stay here and would definitely stay again.More
