We stayed here as part of a visit to McGill. The location was great. Close to the school and the downtown area. We even walked to Old Montreal in less than 30 minutes. Staff is friendly. The bar and cafe are convenient and provide the necessary coffee in the morning and a nightcap before retiring to the room. This is an older hotel. They have done a decent job of updating and the beds are comfortable. But we were in a room near the elevators and dealt with the noise of other guests during the stay. The doors connecting the adjoining room are not soundproof and both nights of our stay we were awoken by people in the next room at 3am. No fault of the staff and in a college town I guess this is to be expected. But if I were to return I would request a room at either end of the hall away from the elevator.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel in February and found the were staff exceptional and helpful. Mike the valet was very good guiding us and ensuring that we were dressed correctly for the extreme cold weather (mad but we loved it from Australia) Peter from the front desk was also helpful. It was very clean and all other staff were friendly and the atmosphere was very welcoming. The restaurant and bar were also very good. This is our second visit and we would not stay anywhere else in Montreal. Gold stars to Mike the valet and Peter on the front desk.

We arrived on one of the coldest days this year in Montreal. We were going to a Canadiens game that evening. The valet parking guys were very quick and attentive to get you into the hotel as quick as possible. Mike and Abraham (valet guys) very informative of where to go and what to do. We had a great discussion about the Canadiens as we have been to Montreal many times and didn't need any advice but others did and they were extremely helpful and courteous.

Ah, the front end staff were really nice and not rushed to get you out of the way.

Loved the Hotel lobby, and as for the room, a little dated in as only the design but not everything else. Renovated and very comfortable and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable, slept like a baby.

They had the heat turned off in the room so a little cold and took me a couple of minutes to figure out how to turn it on.

The only concern is that the bar closes at 10pm, what hotel bar closes at 10pm...... They need to revisit that.

The adjoining morning coffee shop was great. Not owned by the hotel but has access right off the lobby. Great coffee and breakfast goodies.

Would I go back? Yes!

Cheers

I recently went to Montreal to audition for McGill's music program and for the sake of convenience, I decided to go with Best Western Ville Marie. Thinking I'd only be there for one night, I didn't specifically have much expectation. However, on the contrary. This hotel is situated directly downtown Montreal, right next to the University campus itself! The location is perfect, as there are many different restaurants all around, everything is within walking distance and there is a train station very close by.
Not only is the location spot on, but the staff as well. Compared to many large cities, this hotel's staff is very focussed and trying to give their guests the most comfortable stay possible. They are very friendly and incredibly helpful, whether you're looking for a nice restaurant, asking directions or just plain looking for someone to talk to! I got to meet a valet named Mike. He was extremely helpful and even took some time to converse!
All in all, the stay was pleasant and I encourage everyone to stay a this hotel!!

We were treated like royalty upon arrival Feb 27th and leaving Mar 1st ! Front desk was very informative, co-operative, trustworthy and engaging. The hotel concierge Brahim was extremely helpful in giving us directions and map info on getting to Old Montreal and Schwartz's Smoked Meats. Our weekend was made that much better because of the quality staff and services that they provided. Thank YOU from da boyz in Thunder Bay! ;O),
