Best Western Plus Montreal Downtown-Hotel Europa
Ranked #61 of 165 Hotels in Montreal

This Best Western, located less than a block off the main stopping strip of Rue Ste-Catherine, was a very functional, if simple hotel. The rooms have clearly been renovated, with new hardwood floors and comfortable beds. It does still show its age - our air conditioning unit leaked a bit on the floor and drapes, and there was an array of extension cords snaking around the room to power the lamps, not all of which were working. But it was a comfortable stay, and staff were helpful. Garage parking is just around the corner on Stanley, and is very reasonably priced at $15/day. There are only two tiny elevators, so you might have to wait a while. I wouldn't recommend it for a long-term stay, but it was perfect if you just need a clean bedroom to crash in.

If your looking for just the basic, this hotel is for you. The best thing about this hotel is the location as it is central. The rooms are ok and the bathrooms are a bit small. This hotel is for those looking for a great value. Nothing exceptional just a place to sleep.

We came in on a weekday at 11 pm looking for a hotel without any reservations. We needed somewhere to stop on our travels and we had just driven into the end of a snow storm in Montreal. The girl at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. We decided as we were going through Montreal that we would stay a couple of days extra and do some sight seeing. This girl worked basically the whole time we were there was helpful on directing us and giving us tips as we would head out.
When you walk into the front foyer the decor is outdated and made us question at first our decision to stop here. Once in our room we were glad we did stop here. Our room, newly renovated and decorated was not huge, but comfortable and clean. It was also very quiet. Price was perfect and great for location as we were able to just park the car and walk to where we needed to get to or walk to the station to get on the tube. It was perfect for the duration of our stay and look forward to coming again when we decide to travel to Montreal in the future,

This hotel could remind one of a small European hotel. It is centrally located near Ste. Catherine St. convenient to the Metro (subway), shopping underground and on the street, as well a many sidewalk cafes. Also, it is only 4 blks to the beginning of the McGill University. The hotel rooms are not carpeted (this may be a factor in winter), the room has a small fridge as well as WIFI. However, our room (541) very small with a single queen bed and a bathroom that can only have one user at a time, a tall person would find his knees touching the bathtub when seated on the toilet. The room is really only suitable for one person. There is no room service or bell hop to help w/ luggage. Dora's Cafe, a restaurant at street level that offers a wide variety of breakfast items…crepes, French toast, eggs w/ ham, and a wonderful and generous fresh fruit serving. The price w/ tax and tip averaged $15-17. This price seemed high until I checked other coffee shops, etc. in the next block or two and found the price to be on par with other restaurants. If choosing this hotel, remember that there is a McDonald’s nearby in the underground.

Room Tip: Ask for a king size bed...dicker for the price ...the street side is not too noisy so the room size...

My first stay at The Best Western Plus Europa in Downtown Montreal. If you are in Montreal for meetings in downtown, this is your most economical choice by far; just blocks from Place Ville Marie and major convention hotels; on Drummond two blocks from the Bell Centre where the Habs play. 1/2 block to the main shopping street, Ste Catherine and malls. The rooms are clean, modern. Not big rooms but effective. The bed is one of the most comfortable I have found at a Best Western. Two restaurants on site, Cora's for breakfast is awesome. Ask for 5th floor and facing inner courtyard for maximum quietness.
Will definitely be staying here on all future Montreal business trips.

Room Tip: Ask for 5th floor, facing inner courtyard for maximum quietness.

Decent hotel located on Drummond Street, just off Saint Catherine'. The location is therefor very good. Most of the major sights of Montreal are within walking distance. Rooms are OK -especially given the price and contain small fridges as well as a coffee maker. They are also quiet. The hotel is easily accessed by the '747' airport bus that stops at Drummond and Rene Levesque (stop # 3) It is a 10 minute walk to the main train station. There are a number of other major and much more expensive hotels in the area.

Very good room, excelent location, reasonable price!

Located in the heart of Montreal downtown! Many restaurants, bars, pubs and stores nearby! We can do many things by foot! There is a metro station 3 blocks from here! It's a good choice!
