A true British pub with true British fare. Service is fun, beers are great and the food has big tasty portions. Atmosphere is great for the big games. Always hopping

“Great pople”

I have been a number of times and never disappointed. I am eagerly awaiting the opening of the sidewalk terasse and a nice tall draft!

“Service?...there is none”
Reviewed April 25, 2014

From what I have read on the reviews I guess it is better to go in the morning or in the evening because at night there is no service whatsoever. I found this particular waitress rude. I have been there for a second time and I believe that will be my last try. If you expect smiley staff and efficient service go to baldwin barmacy.

“An English Pub, that is so Canadian....”
Reviewed February 24, 2014

If Polo sticks and some football paraphernalia maketh a British pub, then I was in one. Sadly, it doesn't. Add to that huge screens with sport on, and I may as well pop down the local Wetherspoons here in the UK.
We went for a social event, and in that respect the brunch gathering worked well.
But the food...well, to say it wasn't the best I have eaten would be an understatement. The bacon was a chunk of belly pork, the baked beans were from a tin, the grilled tomato had maybe had a passing acquaintance with something hot, the sausages were ok, the potatoes were tepid and the local black pudding was uninspired. The eggs were ok.
I managed to swig 2 pints of cider down to get rid of the cloying taste.
A greasy spoon it wasn't, a gastropub it definitely would never be. A pastiche on UK food, possibly...
