“British flair near Attwater market”
Reviewed December 6, 2012

A first glance, I thought this was just another burger/sandwich place that serves beer. The menu is much more diverse and sophisticated than that, which was a pleasant surprise. I had a Cambridge salad, which was a huge chopped salad similar to a Cobb salad, that was absolutely delicious and satisfying. My husband had a generous portion of venison pie, so generous that he took it home and had a second meal of it.

This place is a must-visit if visiting the Attwater market area. The neighborhood is up-and-coming (given the numerous trendy coffee shops lining Rue Notre-Dame Ouest). It's a bit noisy, but the food is the star here.

“Small slice of the UK”
Reviewed November 27, 2012

Great for having a drink on your own and meet new people or a night out with friends. In the summer the 2 outdoor terraces are where it is at! This place is always busy with a fun atmosphere that all can enjoy.

Sausage stuffed Yorkshire and Pimm's Cup are two must tries on the menu.

Love this neighbourhood pub!

“Fun pub, great atmosphere and delicious food”
Reviewed November 25, 2012

I guess you'd call this place a gastro pub. Prices are good, food is good. They even have a brunch menu. Dinner is fun too. Nice place to go for a drink. In the summer they have a patio, and that is lots of fun too.

“Good pub”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

I stopped in at the Burgundy Lion the other night for a quick bite on the way home. The menu has traditional pub items and they sound good. We started with the deep fried oysters which were okay, not great, but decent. The dipping sauce was the same old cocktail like sauce. I had the burger which was very good and my wife had the poutine with caramelized onions and blue cheese. You can never go wrong with blue cheese in any sauce....yum. They also have a good selection of draft and whiskey. Oddly enough this pub also takes reservations which I find is a little rare for a pub.
The service from our waiter was good, however when we found an open table lacking a chair one waitress seemed like it was asking the world to find one for us.....especially since our waiter brought one over from.....the.....next.....table.
Noise levels are high, like most pubs and this one certainly has charm to it. I will return.
