We stayed at a hotel near St Patrick's and, as Roman Catholics, wanted to attend mass. I had prepared kids for French and was surprised entire mass in English. We enjoyed the beauty of the inside. I was struck by one out of place item. A clock to the right of the altar.

This church, while not quite as impressive as Notre Dame, is still worth your time. It is free to get in and the artwork inside is beautiful. There are no crowds either.

This should be part of your walking tour on the way to Old Montreal. Gorgeous. If you are so inclined, you can light a candle in remembrance of those gone.

We had toured many churches and this was the end of our trip so we were a little numb to history. But we had the best, personalized tour by one of the lovely docents. All of the saints are recognized and have a plaque in this beautiful church.

I personally love churches architecture. St. Joseph' Basilica is a beautiful church. St Joseph's and Notre Dame basilica are 2 beautiful churches that should be visited when in Montreal.
