“Tranquil oasis”
Reviewed September 13, 2013

If you love to bike, then this is a lovely respite from the busy city. You can eaither go west from Atwater, which will take you past the excellent Saint Ambroise Brewry, or go est (left) which can take you past Old Port all the way to Parc Jean Drapeau on the neighboring Island. So nice, especially if the weather's fine

“The Canal which was thought to lead to China.”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

The canal at its meeting with the St. Lawrence has a beautiful park popular with joggers, bikers and sailors in their yachts. We just sat under the oak and maple trees and admired the view in the perfect weather.

“Wonderful to cycle along”
Reviewed September 9, 2013

This is a little Montreal Jewel. Cycle, walk/run from the Atwater market..(parking right there) .across the bridge and you can rent bikes, kayaks, paddle boats or take a BIXI...go left to Old Montreal for lunch and enjoy the pop up restaurants (Lobster Roll a favourite) or turn right and walk , run or cycle out to the west point.... then back to refuel at the Atwater Market.Everyone is out getting fresh air and exercise.

“nice restructured area”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

I love this way to renew places and give them some allure, in Italy we should learn. Still, it is really just a canal, with some room for running. It is for free, and this is already a good news.

Easy cycing along the canal and good scenery. You can spend hours cycling around the areas with lots of stops and well marked cycle paths.
