It was very pleasant wandering along the Canal watching the wide St Laurence river, quite beautiful. The pathways are very wide and accommodate cyclists as well as walkers and there are historic buildings on the other side of the road to marvel at. Very enjoyable.

We bicycled our way from Vieux-Montreal down to the canal and all the way to the Marche Atwater. Well signed and friendly people throughout, even though it was very popular on a Sunday.

As others have stated, was fun but the scenery is kind of rundown industrial. Somewhat pretty but certainly not beautiful. It's enjoyable to ride along a bike path that's in the city but not among the cars and busyness, but it's certainly not like great like the Seawall in Vancouver for ex.

What a lovely bike route. We crossed from Lachine to Atwater Market and it's the perfect route. Loads of athletes, families, people just doing it for fun... It's beautiful - A must try to all people who want a real Montreal experience.

You can rent a bike to ride along the canal for $10/hr or $30/day. The pathway for bike is extensive throughout the region. It leads to the Lachine Public markets where you can buy great lunches and other fresh fruits and produce.
